i was wondering if any one else has this problem wih there sway bar bushings i have went thourgh to sets now and dont no y is there any polyurthane ones i can buy some one please help

 

darn nobody knows y im going thourgh these bushings or were i can find some good polyurthan ones at

 

try energy suspension, don't know how they look but if you know the measure, you can get it from them. and remember to keep an eye on the sway bar end links, i think because of the stiffness of the sway bar, does will receive a beat. my 2 cents, then again i could just be wrong 100%.

 

#1 there are no poly bushings and it would be a step back. #2 you are probably single bolt and tab fixing and that is the problem. Go to updated FE5 two bolt clamps your problems are over. I think....

 

no i do have the two bolt clamp and my sway bar links are good and y would poly ones be taking a step back im a little confused

 

polyurethane is actually a softer material than OEM bushings..

 

do you have an upgraded sway bar? what model cobalt are you?

 

no stock everything 2006 ss/sc ok so i think im just going to get the stock bushings

 

...what other mods do you have? do you have like a engine damper? or motor mounts? seems odd you would go threw sway bar bushings like that. What do you mean you go threw them? Like are they just squeaking or are they destroyed?

 

no other mods yet but i have ordered damper and mounts but yeah the stock ones were good till a couple of months ago and started goign bad and now they are destroyed so i replaced them with top of the line moogs and they only lasted 1 month and are destroyed so i think im goin back to stock ones

 

hmmm how many miles on your car? do you drive it hard?

well see if the moogs have a warranty on them, but yeah go with stock ones again.

 

this is actually a very common thing over on the HHR forums. Ive had it since around 20k miles and been to the dealer countless times to get fixed with no luck. I got a pair of greasable bushings which unfortunatly I havent got put on yet, but hopefully soon. Also another part in question is the end links(Im pretty sure thats what I read some were).

 

yeah i got 47k on her the problem started at about 45k with the old ones and i know my end links are good i dont drive it hard all the time lol but i do live in cleveland and the roads up here suck *****, i just moved up here from morganown, WV and thats about the tim all this happened so im saying its ohio's fault lol

 

Its a mystery to me. I hammer the heck out of the car, we been road racing Delta's steady since 2004 & dont see the bushings work out on a 2 bolt clamp...dont know what to tell you...

Here is my problem: look at the retaining clip. it has a stamped groove in the clamp and it has rolled edges;all help retain the swaybar bushing in place, plus a bonded stop in the bar itself. The bushing has to do some pretty extraordinary things to move out. Over 5 years and about 25 race cobalts we have never seen this bushing "walk" out. Just sayin'

P.S. This cradle is out of my car, an original one bolt with tab mount cradle converted with the new style FE5 clamp and a hole drilled with a bolt to update it..

 

my bar just moves up in down not side to side and mne looks different then that cuz my smaller bolt comes up thurgh the bottom and has a nut on the top but that should not really matter

 

Is the 1 bolt factory and the 2 bolt is an update to the factory ss/sc clamp? A factory ss/sc car would need which clamp and the 24mm bushing correct?

 

Maybe you can use Energy Suspensions Sway Bar bushings by size? They are also Greaseable .

I Do see the 24MM size, but you would have to measure your bracket to make sure the new bracket would be the same.
