tired of my setup

Ok,im running my H&R race springs for 2 years now and Im very tired of them.So now I what something a lot more comfortable with approximatly the same look. The question is:is it possible? If yes what should I get? Im ready to try almost anything except air ride because I run my car in snow.So Im waiting for your suggestion(only from your experience)

sorry not from experience, but maybe somebody else can chime in too;

get the koni shocks.. from what I understand, they are designed to take the drops from lowering springs so the ride isn't as harsh.

why don't people understand...if you lower your car with springs only, of course the ride is going to be worse or less comfortable...The stock struts aren't made for lowering. Just lower the damn thing properly in the first place.

Koni struts are the way to go, so you can adjust the ride from firm to old school Cadillac.

I know how to lowered a car dude, the only reason why I only have my spring is because they were no strut when I instaled them 2 years ago. What I want to know is should I buy koni struts or going for something else like coilover or air suspension.I like the look of my car now but im tired of the harsh ride.So please next time dont tink everybody s stupid when you answer a question, ive done my homework when I bought my springs and now I do it again to achieve my goal, thats why I want to rely on people who tried different setup...

If you would've done your homework, you would've waited to lower your car when the struts came out, then you wouldn't have had to do it twice. So obviously you don't know how to "lowered" a car...and I don't "tink" everybody is stupid. I wasn't talking specifically about you man, but good luck with whatever you go with.

Also in your 1st post you said "except air ride" and in the 2nd one you say you may go for "Coilover or Air Ride"...alright then.

Coilovers are a damn good way to go. They give you adjustability for a sport type ride or more of a comfort ride. Unless you wanna spend big money on Air ride, this is the cheaper more reliable way to go

he said except air because he know how reliable it would be in the snow. i put in my post bout it in the snow and now hes considering it big ****** deal that he changed his mind. people do that.

And he would have waited to do it "the right way" when he bought his car in 05? The guy had no idea when the shocks were going to come out but wanted the better than stock look/feel/handling then. Its not going to be the "wrong way" if hes not doing auto-x or anything else where hes looking to get something out of the suspension. Plus even if he has to do it twice, he can swap the shocks in under a half hour. Not hard.

again I wasn't talking to him directly, just in general...because you see lots of posts about "I lowered my car with such and such springs...but the ride sucks"

I then told him what the Konis were like because I've had them...and I'm sorry, but IMO, lowering your car on just springs is the wrong way.

and according to Koni's website, they released them for our car in 2006, so not that long of a wait...

but yeah if i were you man I would go for Koni's, Coilovers again IMO, aren't great...I've had them too. Air ride would be cool, but that's where how much money you wanna spend comes in.

late 2006 the konis came out, and since you can get the following year model in the previous year that means the bolts came out augustish 04. thats a good two year difference

ok so now with your experiences and suggestions,I think I`ll go with the konis, price factor. You know canucks,I understand your point of view about the way Ive worked my car and I know that Ive should waited for the shocks to came out but it took 2 years of delays when koni finally give us the chance to get struts. It sucks to do it 2 time but I can live with .

Get the Koni's. If your car sees snow and road salt the spring perches will be siezed to the shock body after one winter.

I apologize and retract my previous statement! I'm the ass on this one!

On this subject, i wasn't really impressed w/ my Konis i had on my hyundai, but then again i had to do some modding to get them to fit. Like he said, they were not that great.

I never said Koni's weren't great, Coilovers weren't great...lol

Koni's are the best thing I've ever had and Bumble ALL fitments of Koni's have to be modded to fit, they are a front INSERT...you have to cut open your front struts and whatnot, and slide the Koni's in. The rears are direct replacement.
