Vibration Station over here..

The car is a 2006 ss/sc, just dropped it on brand new H&R Sports, with brand new Moog end-links. (All done within the past 24 hours)

Car has a mad vibration in 1st and 2nd gear, what's the deal? From what I read it is axle bind? Do rotated mounts resolve this?

Other than that, car rides GREAT, makes absolutely NO noises, etc.

Let me clarify: Yes, the tabs are facing the motor. Yes, I marked the strut-to-knuckle before I took it apart so the bolts went back in exactly how they were. Yes, the spring is sat correctly, both at the top and bottom of the strut.

Double check your torque on the axle nuts. As well, double check how tight the upper strut stud nuts are. Sounds like something is too tight, or too loose.

Sounds like axle bind to me, i am not sure if that can be eliminated. from what i know it cannot without altering the postion of the trans. IDK if Rotated mounts will help.

Rotated mounts will help get rid of your axle bind.

Only thing you can align is toe.. Can't adjust camber on the Cobalt, really.

you have camber adjustment where the knuckle bolts to the strut assembly. those two bolts is where your camber adjustment is.

its caster you dont have adjustment of.

and the rear you dont have camber or caster

Tried the camber adjustment when it started, barely has any movement at all, not even noticable.

Same issue with your Stance? Vibes? Thats **** because I was hoping to get stances and fix this with less drop.

The only way to fix this is to either get rotated trans mounts, or to raise your car. Even with rotated trans mounts you can still get bind, but it lets you go like half an inch or so lower before it starts.

^ You're right, I mis-posted, caster is the only non-adjustment for the front. The reason I include camber, is due to the fact that I've never seen a Cobalt have camber off to the point where it was a big problem. It's usually only toe, if anything, and most of the time, the alignment is basically dead on, even after lowering.

Why do people only buy OTTP rotated mounts, do they work better than ZZP rotated mounts? I just want the vibes to stop. It's really bad. Any time I get on the gas it shakes, I was WOT 3rd just to see and it still vibes at 70+, it sucks. The stance is real low for springs though so I kind of expected it.

Like I said brand new Moog end-links and alignment is basically dead on. I guess I'll try rotated mounts now.

I checked out ZZP's mounts and they have a set for lowered and non-lowered cars. Is this to solve the vibration issue? Either way i'm buying mounts, just trying to decide which set.

Dont you need to get certain kind of cam bolts for that?

If you buy the cam bolts you need to enlarge the top hole(one in red) so you get the adjustment. As it is from the factory it's just a round hole and the cam deosn't fit through.

From what I read, rotated mounts should take away all of the vibration, but of course, stage 2 rotated mounts will add vibes of their own, but they should remove the horrible axle geometry.

People used to buy OTTP because thats where Powell sold his mounts through. He doesnt do that anymore so if you want his, which I highly recommend, you have to contact him via email or PM him on here. Easier to email him though since he's not on here regularly.

I talked to a Dood at ottp and he's said rack spacers or the transmount isn't a Forsure fix, he said it might be bent axles but if this many people have the problem I doubt that
