What is the best suspension for solo events?
I have a 09 SS/TC I want to get coilovers but everyone says none of the kits are good for track use and I'm not sure on how to build a custom setup. Any help would be appreciated.
I'm fairly certain the coilover kits just require some customization, switching out different springs till you find the correct spring rate to fit your driving style (oversteer vs understeer and on and on) Powell Racing would know the most about this since his set up is straight baller, and read his thread about suspension(its a sticky) if you're serious about non straight line racing, lots of great info in there.
But a hardcore or XXX bar would help I'm sure, as well as spherical CABs

To be honest op, this is a case of do you want good handling or going low? Unfortunatley none of the coilovers for this car, save some very expensive Ohlin coilovers, can match the handling of the stock suspension let alone a setup with pedders.

Just got powell LCABS installed today and just gotta say that wow there great, Front end feels a lot smoother more direct over uneven roads. And whole front end just feels more accurate in general under load.
Talk to John Powell, He's stocked up on pedders right now.

This would be a great setup.
It's not just the springs rates on the coilovers which are poor, it's the valving and build design as well. There's a reason that a GOOD set of coilovers costs more than $5000. I'm no expert, I defer to Mr. Powell on that, but this is what I've always been told, and understand from all the time I've spent researching on it.

Bang for the buck, I'd vote XXX bar from John Powell (PRS), and Konis. Done. Go have fun. I wouldn't run the XXX bar without the Konis, at least the rears.
If you're more serious, add on Pedder springs, trailing control arm bushings, and possibly leading control arm bushings if you're really serious.
Sticky tires help, but you can just get an extra set of TC wheels and throw on some Nitto NT01. Durable and sticky enough.
