What break pads do you use?
My Pros and Cons mixed-
1: Front brake dust builds up fast, and thick
2: The pedal needs more of a solid feel
3: More pistons equal shorter stopping distance
4: Larger diameter discs, both front and rear would improve look, and help slow the car better
5: More rotor options from Brembo
6: Steel housing for rear disc suck if its left unpainted... And looks horrible through SS/TC wheels

i dont really know what im using, i have had this car for a year and a half and have not done any brake service other than replacing a leaking caliper ,but now my front rotors are worn to the point they cant get resurfaced lol
You also called them "breaks" when they are "brakes". No biggie, i just thought i was funny you caught one mistake and not the the most glaringly obvious one.
For an LNF, stick with the stock front pads. They are top of the line. Really hard to find front pads that will outperform them. Ferodo HP1000's is what they are. The CTS-V uses the same pads, FYI... as well as a few Ferrari's, iirc.
For LNF rears, or for an LSJ, I prefer the Hawk HP+'s. HPS's are too passive. EBC stuff used to be good, but it seems to all be junk these days.
This.

i went with advanced auto parts front discs and ceramic pads.. my friend/mechanic gets industrial discount from them so might as well lol lifetime warranty on pads(i dont know if all pads have it) ...2 yrs on rotors... staying on budget FTW lol
Wagner Thermoquiet Ceramics ...? no cheap stuff.. check them out.... lol ive heard of ppl preferring them over EBC and HAWK pads.... i have not heard bad things about them.. theres a guy in here who posted about them years ago too lol... i talked to the guy who has worked there for 30 years... he said.. NO COMPLAINS....
I admit I don't know too much about the Advance Auto brake pads... but I've seen Auto Zone brake pads nearly catch on fire after a spirited run on a twisty road. Seeing as how they're both places to get cheap (aka crap) parts, I figured they'd be one and the same. The rotors, as well, are usually on the cheap side. Warp rather easily. Like you said, free replacement for life is nice. Changing them gets old after a while... and if you ever do any serious high speed or twisty road stuff, you're putting your life on the line.
yea thats why i decided not to get ebc or hawk cuz all ive heard is complains lol these pads were $1oo but sold to me for $6o with lifetime replacement and like i said ive never heard anything bad about them , those are not the store brand though lol
Well, the problem with listening to other people's opinion on brakes, is that they usually bought the wrong pads, themselves.
I like Hawk pads, but you have to know which pad suits your set-up best, and you have to know what you're getting into. I see aggressive drivers buying the HPS's, and then wondering why their car doesn't stop as well. Probably because its a weksos street pad. Then there are passive, "daily" drivers that buy the HP+'s and wonder why their brakes are so noisy and need warming up before they stop the best. Probably because those are more of a racing pad.
I run the HP+'s on both my cars. No complaints. I knew what I was getting into before hand though.
EBC's are good to avoid these days though. Quality has really gone down hill in the last 5 or so years.
Stock LNF pads are honestly perfect though. Ferodo HP1000's are top notch. You aren't going to find much that work as well when put to the test.
And if they aren't the store brand pads, you shouldn't have said "i went with advanced auto parts front discs and ceramic pads."
Made it sound like you went with the cheapest stuff they had... which I believe is the "Wearever" stuff.

mine is an lsj so i dont have those nice pads lol
i would never buy cheap pads lol if money weren't an issue i would buy Carbotech pads , but 60 dollars for these with lifetime replacement is something i just couldnt resist lol i dont do any type of racing, so these will be perfect

Ah, LSJ. Threw me off with the S/N plus a sig of a car with SS/TC wheels.
If you don't get crazy with the car, those will be fine then. I get crazy... HP+'s are a must. In all reality, I need to upgrade to larger discs. Either the PRS Floating Rotor set-up or a Brembo set-up... or a Brembo + PRS Floating Rotor set-up.
