Unhappy What happens when you hit a curb at 60mph

Well last night I decided to let my friend drive my SS. I guess he was trying to show off turning a corner at 60 but it didnt go quite as planned. Nailed the curb and slid a few yards down the sidewalk and finally hit a stop sign. The front suspension is completely demolished. Axle is ripped completely out if the trans, control arm is broken in several pieces, steering gear is broken in half, strut tower, etc are all bent / broken to ****. Insurance is going to be writing an estimate on it tomorrow. Do you guys think this enough damage to total? It hit so hard the entire engine is tweaked slightly in the engine bay and the passenger tire is pushed into the fender

if the body frame is bent then yes they will total it but from the pic you took it doesnt look that bad.

Wow, now we all know not to let friends drive our cars, no matter how much we trust them. Because it wasn't his car that was lost, it was yours. Sorry to hear about your loss man, its a beautiful car. Is your friend paying for it? I would think insurance would rip you one for letting another driver drive your car.

Uhm, I think its totalled. It would cost a ton to fix and repair it. Front suspensiona nd engine as well...:thumbdown

He would be paying every single thing on that car, and we probably wouldn't be friends anymore.

i had an ex girlfriend hit a curb and totally **** my rim up. i yelled at her, but what ever it was an accident.. yeah he was stupid for driving that fast and taking the corner, but i donno.. **** happens, but thats my attitude though...

Sorry to hear about your car, dude!! I hope you're going to make your friend pay for the damages, if insurance doesn't total it out. Which, I don't think they'll total it, doesn't look that bad, but I'm not one to judge, cause I'm not an insurance adjuster. keep us updated.

Well they did look amazing. I would kick his ass. Who was he showing off to? Wow, if I had an SS/SC nobody but me would drive it, just because I pay for my car and my friends wouldn't take responsibility if they fucked something up. I have a 2.2 n nobody drives it but me. Well heh, my brother thinks he's a badass n drives it to school when I'm sleeping and all his lil buddies think its fast bc of the intake. lollerskates. But anyways, tough loss dude. They shouldn't total it out though. Keep us posted.
