What Rotors Have you Installed?
My left front brake rotor is warped so bad that my steering wheel shakes when applying the brakes. Rather than take it to the dealership for warranty repairs (I have 7,200 miles on the odometer) and have the same problem again (like I did with the Grand AM GT) I would prefer to just install some performance rotors.
On all of my vehicles I have installed power slot rotors with performance friction brake pads. The combination works really great. But just to get an idea what other good products are available and in use I thought I would ask my partners.
To answer this question I would prefer some responses from people who installed performance rotors and pads with over 10,000 miles on the products.

- What kind of rotors?
- What kind of pads?
- Do they rust or are they coated?
- Slotted, cross drilled, both, etc.
- Any warpage, vibrations,, etc.
I have the Powerslott rotors with Pro-Stop pads. I have the EBC pads in my garage waiting for the Pro-Stop ones to wear out. Have had both the rotors and pads for just about 10,000 miles. No warpage, no vibrations, no rust, and no complaints at all. Reduced brake dust amounts and the rotors are zinc coated as well. I love the rotors and the pads aren't bad at all for the price, but wouldn't say that there great by any means.

- What kind of rotors? rotorworks slotted/drilled
- What kind of pads? posi quiet
- Do they rust or are they coated? no rust
- Slotted, cross drilled, both, etc.? see above
- Any warpage, vibrations,, etc.? these have been great

filled in answers above
I just bought powerslot rotors and hawk hps pads. I went with powerslot because they were reasonably priced, and I did not want drilled rotors as I plan to open track the car. Also, in all my research I didn't find any specific complaints about them, so I assume the quality should be good.
Thanks......
How many miles do you have on them? Did you go with the GM pads also?

i've got powerslot drilled rotors on all 4 and paired them with stock calipers and Hawk HPS pads--I find it to be a perfect braking setup for me. the only rust i've seen is near the studs, but powdercoating would alleviate it a lot. as for brake dust, i get little to no dust with the HPS pads. stopping power and distance is insane, considering the setup is less than 1K. the pedal doesn't seem to fade as much as it did with the stock brakes either, making the driver a lot less nervous around Utah drivers.
I've only had them on for a month now, they are great, but they make my rears look like ****,I have a thread in the warrenty/matience section with a parts number,so take that into your dealership and see what they can do for you
Couldn't find enough information about the GM rotors (what are they made of etc.) I'd hate to buy another rotor that will warp. I was thinking they are the same rotors as stock but they machined them and zinc coated them.
I've always used powerslot rotors and never ever had a problem with them...but, I think I will try the EBC Sport rotors and redstuff pads.

ive had the ebc rotors with hawk pads for about a week now and i really like them. the rotors are slotted and dimpled so you dont have to worry about the stress cracks the drilled rotors are known for. it took about 100-150 miles of city driving to completely seat the hawk pads but now they grip like crazy.
If your going with EBC pads, the Green Stuff would be a lot better bet then the Red Stuff pads for normal driving. They'll last longer and most times grip better. The Red Stuff pads only outperform the Green Stuff ones at high temps, such as from heavy use on a road coarse. If you don't do that type of driving, or only for short periods of time, the Green Stuff would be better for you.
My original warped GM rotors were replaced with the GMPP cross-drilled and slotted ones. So far so good. I have about 11,000 on them, the only problem I am having now are the sh*tty stock pads which will soon be replaced
