Shorty headers

We have 3 shorty SLP headers worth over 10hp to the wheels over stock or gm ported manifolds .

They are bolt on and fully coated in and out .

We have to sell them $475 shipped .

I would say WAAAAYYYY to much money man! I'll keep my free ported manifold and save the 500 bucks sorrY! Now If it was more like 200-250 you might get a better responce...

Just my opionion though!

gotta pay to play. the pacesetter is decent, not the best. but best priced for the lsj world. there are better headers out there.

just my two pennies

Shazam! Matt installed one of these SLP shorty headers and a ZZP 3" to 2.5" down pipe today and WOW! Still running the stock exhaust and have not yet had a custom tune and I am noticing a substantial improvement in the bottom end (no rough 1st gear take offs at low rpm) and the mid and top end pull much harder. These two bolt ons alone have made this car feel much more powerful, more well mannered and it even seems to cruise smoother at 50-55 mph... I can't wait to get it on the Parkway Monday morning and open it up a little... These additions made me fall in love with this car all over again... Thanks Matt for the suggestion!

My original plan was to do a cat back and dp first then worry about the header later. While I was at the TTP dyno day, SLP showed off some pre-production headers that were of amazing quality, stainless and *Jet-Hot coated in & out. I made my decision then that when they went into production they were what I was going to buy. When I stopped by TTP last week to pay Matt for the SLP cat back (I already had the dp) we were talking and I asked him how long before the SLP headers were going to be in production as I wanted to buy one after the Holidays. That is when he told me SLP decided they were not going to put the header into production and that only three of the pre-production shorties were still available. Since I can buy the cat back any time I bought the header...

I am totally satisfied. The dp and header are the only mods I have made since he dyno'd the car back on August 11th (my Stage II kit went in August 10th), if Matt wants to dyno it to prove the gains I'm in.

*My '89 T/A has a set of Edelbrock tri-y headers that I had sent out to Jet-Hot when I got them in '92-'93 (before they offered them ceramic coated) and couldn't be any happier with them... I will never install another header on any of my vehicles without this coating...

Thanks, even better than the looks, the car runs insanely better... Low RPMs are smoother, the torque curve seems much broader and the overall driveability has improved dramatically. You can really hear the exhaust flow at higher RMS (4000+) under full throttle but I will bet that will be less noticeable once I install a cat back... My plan is to go with the SLP Loud Mouth II and if not happy with the sound replace the muffler with a Flowmaster 40 or DynoMax...

If you get the SLP II catback you wont be able to hear yourself think. That **** will be loud and cops will definately pull you over for it.

The deal with this header, the reason I had to have it was I put my paws on it long before I was in the market for one. I saw the quality of the material and workmanship that went into it not to mention the ceramic coating that would cost you about $180 to have done to any other header on top of the cost of that header. I also know SLP does not build crap, I know there was a lot of time into this product. It is a sin they are not going to production...

That is my point, you paid $610, I paid a total with tax of $645 for the header and down pipe and I had a wideband bung with plug added to the down pipe... Some of these guys are bragging about what they got for under $400 but they are comparing apples to oranges...
