2 step launch control

Please tell me it's possible to set something like this up with hp tuners. I'll will be super happy if so. Also, if it is possible preset an rpm for launching, how do you do it?

By itself, no its not. But there is a park/neutral feature in the PCM. Just need to figure it out and wire up a fuse. Dan is looking into it for his Turbo Setup.

There is really no reason for a blown car to need a 2-step. Just use your foot, throttle management. Worrying about if your foot can hold a certain RPM should be the least of your worries.

I already told you, it will make launching so much easier.

this would def. provide for more consistent launching, esp. with the finicky drive by wire on our cars. just a launch limiter would be amazing

yea, I want to set it to 5500 for my track launches. check this out, thinking about just buying it. Then I can change the launch for the street or track.

stu, check my thread in the drag section. 8.7@80mph with a 2.009 60ft. launching at 5200rpms. Watch that vid in the thread. It comes out of the hole hard. I just think it would be a cleaner/harder launch with a launch control.

check my thread out in the drag section. Stock clutch and axles, 5200rpm launches, no problems at all!

Honestly, I thought that 2 step was used by turbo guys to build boost before launching. We don't build boost like that, and don't really want to imo. I launch at about 2000 rpms and I don't really find it that hard to hold it there. Just my $0.02. Then again, I've never launched with slicks.

sj you are right about the 2 step, ralli or more or less just wanting a launch limiter to be more consistent at launching.

The only thing I've found to help launch the car is lowering the boost setting in first. It actually needs to be ramped up so that you transition nicely into 2nd at 100%. There is no way to do a 2 step as far as I know in HPTuners.

Am I the only one that rarely makes it down the track without breaking something? I love drag racing, but everytime I go I break big money pieces it seems.

That's basically what I do. I limit my boost in 1st, short shift at about 6k into 2nd, 7k shift into third...

Launching off a 2 step is actually pretty common place in alot of cars that drag race alot with any type of engine combo .

I had Werewolf SS limit my boost to 40% till 4000rpm, bump to 60% by 6000, then back to full at redline...I was trapping 103 while running 14.5...my 60' sucks (2.4-2.6)
