That would be correct. Wait!! Maybe we can get HPT to do a custom OS for us that will allow rpm control via spark.

Wow. That's scary. BTW, you don't build boost by keeping the rpms up on a SCed car. It's bad for your car because it is cutting fuel. That's how it decides not to go over that rpm.

scary? it's only 4500rpms, and it's a limiter. I know it's cutting fuel, but it's not going over 4500rpms with no fuel. And it's building boost cause I can hold the pedal to the floor. drop the clutch and come outta the hole harder.

Okay. I just wouldn't want to keep bouncing my car off a rev limiter. Keeping a constant rpm at no load builds VAC, not boost. If you want to build boost, put the car in gear with the brake on and let out the clutch with your foot on the gas (brake still on). Takes some practice, but THAT will build boost. Not great for your car either, BTW.

Yea, I'm working on the top end now. I just picked up a header for 40 bucks locally. I'll throw that with a custom dp and intake and throttle body on when I get back from my deployment.

The reason turbo guys do it is because it spools their turbo. Hold your rev at 3000 and see what happens to your boost gauge.

I understand, but I'm not gonna just play all day on the limiter, it's for launching only. Not only that, but I'll have a more consistent launch as well. Bracket racing FTW! maybe I can actually earn some money now.

Yea, I know, it's in vac. but with the limiter, I can FLOOR it and it actually builds to 10psi. NOT VAC. Which is why I think it'll launch harder.

Okay, well, I've never tried it, so I'll trust you on that.

I'm Steve, that's worse.

I think he smells burnt pistons. I could be mistaken. Could be maple syrup, for all I know.

That's cool, dude. I wish you luck. There are quite a few people expressing concern though. In my experience, that's a great time to do more research about just what that does. Some of these people know some stuff about engines too. Just sayin'.

I'm old and need my sleep. Off to bed for me. Let me know how it works out for you.

There's a guy on the redline forums that has been doing this for a while. He's a little hard to get ahold of though. But apparantley he has no problems.
