Hp tuners question on credits

I went to a near by tuner & paid for 2 hp tuners credits. He was able to log my info & all through that license. I'm about too purchase hp tuners now after the fact. Are these 2 credits stored through my vin or through the tuners mpv12 vcm. I'm trying to figure out if I need to buy 2 more credits after I purchase this mpv12 vcm suit? Sorry pretty green on the subject

If you buy your own hptuners, you will need to purchase 2 more credits. If he made no changes to your tune, then you wasted the money. Credits are not necessary to pull files or log. Only when you make changes and reupload do you need credits

Another question about hp tuners credits. Please forgive my greeness. I'm trying to purchase an hp tuners mpv12 off eBay. The seller says it comes with 2 credits and will provide the account information associated with that device. Is that legit! Can I use someone else's paid for credits or is it vin orientated? T.I.A.

If the credits are not assigned (saying it comes with two) then you can use them. You can purchase a bulk of credits (new units come with 8 or they used to anyways) and then use them as needed. Or you can buy what you need each time.

Once the credits are assigned to an ECU ID (not vin) they're used, until they're used they're just chilling on the cable.
