LNF tune/car problems....

...............

ok so i started of thinkin that my tune was great brought it to the dyno and it dyno'd 249hp and 315trq runnin way to rich...

thought it was maybe the intake screwing things up so i replaced it back to stock.

run the car again and it feels slower, so me and vince from trifecta go thru about 6 or 7 diff tunes and data log them all and just cant get my power out. It most of the tunes my power would feel strong but @ about 5200rpm it will misifre and choke up...codes p0300 and p0303 which is 3rd cylinder misfire.

Took my car back to a different dyno yesterday and vince sent me 4 diff tunes to try which all did the same power 235 hp and 321 trq....WTF right?? Im dynod stock at 240/245 so what the hell is wrong with my car ....i have a 3" CIA downpipe...clogged or damaged cat? or bad spark plugs maybe...? any one else having problems like this or am i the only one??????

and it cant be that the ecu is faulty cuz vince sent me the stock tune and the car ran fine no misfires or sputters. so im thinkin its def a problem with my car at this point but just dont know what to do...gonna change spark plugs tonight.

any1 have any suggestions

Where's your dyno sheet?

My car dyno'd 243whp 340tq and the car runs fine depends on the dyno

Well with as rich as you were... that could be the main cause. Canned tunes are never good, I'm sorry! Customizing them to individual cars is the best and ONLY way to go.

You guys have such LOW hp numbers it's kind of scary!

I would say check your plugs, if they are a slight redish brown color that is normal that is what most of our cars look like.

Cat... it could be but you would be making more boost than normal due to the higher restriction in the system. SO if you have no boost issues I would take that out of the equation.

The only thing I can think is that you are just disgustingly rich, which will cause horrid dyno numbers and even worse gas milage?

I put the same tune file that was in my car into 3 other cars....

First one dyno'd 275 and 307 (corrected)
Second one was 273 and 305 (corrected)

And then mine was 290 and 320 (corrected) mine uncorrected was 307 and 339.

SO you need to remember EVERY car is different, each will react differently to different things. My car took an assload of timing while the others didn't like much over 13*

Well check the cat.... drop the downpipe and look inside it... you'll see if it's been ****! Or take it off break out all the **** in it.... dump it out and put it back inside.

I don't think that is the main cause though... prolly adding to it, but not the main cause. I wish I could see your tune file... I would be willing to bet your MAF cal table is either off, or they are commanding to rich. I am tuned for about 12.8 at WOT if I remember right you were in the 11's or so... which is pig rich even for an injector car like the LSJ

On a Turbo car, a clogged cat reduces boost, can't flow the exhaust to spin the turbo faster..

i bet there is some tables in there someone forgot to tweak. bone stock cars {down to the paper filter} should be easily in the 290/330 range.

Had the same issue it would bog an start to shake violently past 5k. It seemed to idle very odd like it was camming, so I kept punching it out of anger and still continued. Started to need gas, I was like why the hell not I'll try putting some Shell fuel in. Right after fill up and took of it stopped sputtering and shaking. Before I was running some citgo gas. May not be the same issue for you, but that's what happened to me. I also have gone through 5 map sensors too, I haven't had much luck with my car.

Sherm replace the plugs with new OE plugs gap them between .32-.35

Take off your Hahn intake, put the stock airbox back on. Drive it for a few days without beating on it, see if the ECM will relearn what it's doing.

After that get a real, tune I am sure there is someone in Florida that can hook you up with HP Tuners and fix your issue.

HAHN's intercooler I have heard nothing but issues with!

a mix of week tuner and lack of air flow. its a dyno, much less then street air flow amounts.

along with whats sounding like some one forgetting to adjust the boost table and air load tq mgt.

yeah no offense to vince hes a good guy but usually boost aint his forte` I would use HP tuners , save money and time and frustration. AREA knows what hes talking about so if you tune with HP Ide suggest chatting with him.,=

I'd bet that if you were to have / get hpt and then loaded on one of my tunes on the car. you could then swing back to the dyno and watch the power jump.
