MAF sensor is f-en things up, HELP
MAF sensor is f-en things up, HELP
Hey it's STS2/SS how the hell is my MAF maxxed out at 4000 rpm's? I make beuttifull power untill that happens any idea on how to fix the issue?
Here is with a 2.7 pulley

here is with the 2.6 pulley

With the 2.6 the MAF sensor frequency was 10,000 Hz at 5,500 rpm's
With the 2.7 the MAF sensor freq was 10,000 Hz at 6,000 rpms.
You can see the HP/TQ suffer from it. The engine at those rpms actually sounded like it was skipping?
Any help would be nice!

^^ well, when there is no MAF input, it definitely sounds like the car starts skipping/misfiring. However, these MAFs are supposed to be good to over 500hp....its the same MAF thats on the Z06, or so I hear..so idk why it would be maxxing out so low. Maybe theres a restriction where the actual MAF sensor is, so it thinks its seeing a lot more flow than it actually is? course then this would make you run really rich...so probably not.
Not to sound like captian obvious, but have you removed you're intake, cleaned the filter, cleaned the MAF, made sure the entire intake from filter to sc is nice and tight? Also pull a couple plugs and re check the gap? Reset the ecu? I've had a lot of skipping, flattening out, and weird acceleration issues myself and Ive always been able to fix it by cleaning/resetting everything and checking the ignition etc.. I dont know about the rest of the 06 SC's out there, but mine sure was a tempermental biatch.
sts has plenty of injector left...
he had the same problem before he put his intake on with a new filter and all...
and yes the 06's are horrible they just fight you everywhere you go

Without know what your mods are it'll be hard to tell anything. But that last sheet you can see your AFR getting leaner at about 122, was there anyway to monitor your Injector Duty Cycle?? You may need to run it leaner. What is the IAT2?? If your generating too much heat there's a good chance you'll get knock.
the only reason why your maf is maxed on a blower car is due to improper tuning.
due a WB error log, copy her over by % and a few runs latter you'll have a dialed in maf.
if you lack the ability to due so, or if you mess that up you can go the uber ghetto way and scale the maf table on your own.
also, setting the maf fail freq higher will net more head room to work with.

06Black I just called my tuner and left a message on his phone to let him know your input. I also think that could be it. I wish I had the ability to use the HPT. Anyone in the CT/RI area with one that wouldn't mind helping? I cant get a hold of Fred as usual?
I'll take a look at all the obvious today. I have 2 step colder NGK's gapped to .035. I need to buy a better intake that is bigger in diameter. I think that will make my MAF think it's seeing less frequency?
