obd2 scanner with droid application

Anyone have this application for there droid? Uses a obd2 wireless tranceiver dongle such as DealExtreme: $53.99 ELM327 Bluetooth OBD-II Wireless Transceiver Dongle. Don't see the need to drop 200 on an aero force gauge anymore. Pretty sweet.

I'm definitely getting this. How sexy would it be to reset a cel light from your cell phone or to read your fuel trims with yo cell phone! all for a total of 55 bucks. They have cheaper dongles on ebay that I hear work just as well. The 5 dollar application Torque is what i'm gonna use it with. Phones nowadays jesus.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCZyxrS_ixY that's the free app. 5 dollar one has even more. Can even data log with this **** and email it to yourself. Sorry i'm excited about this app as I just got a Android x.

Likely only scans generic obd2 pid's though so in this case you are likely getting what you paid for.

There are more apps other than Torque. This is a list created by PLX Devices. They manufacture one of the bluetooth OBDII devices out there.

Dunno what pid's are but what do you mean "likely getting what you paid for"????
Below are some of the things it reads. What else do you need?

Works with all OBD-II compliant vehicles

• Read diagnostic trouble codes, both generic and manufacturer-specific, and display their meaning (over 3000 generic code definitions in the database).
• Clear trouble codes and turn off the MIL ("Check Engine" light)
• Display current sensor data, including:
• Engine RPM
• Calculated Load Value
• Coolant Temperature
• Fuel System Status
• Vehicle Speed
• Short Term Fuel Trim
• Long Term Fuel Trim
• Intake Manifold Pressure
• Timing Advance
• Intake Air Temperature
• Air Flow Rate
• Absolute Throttle Position
• Oxygen sensor voltages/associated short term fuel trims
• Fuel System status
• Fuel Pressure
• Many others...

Its called dash command. You need to buy the wifi odb2 adapter for it. I have it on my iphone but never got the adapter since i bought hptuners instead.

Yeah those are SAE pids(parameter identifiers), there are about 30 of those available for applications such as yours.

Good scanners will also scan enhanced pids such as knock retard, commanded afr, etc. Thats the reason I said you are getting what you pay for in this case, a cheap scanner.

Things like knock retard are real nice to have so you don't blow up your engine

The PLX one would work, but its pricey. From what it sounds like though, the ebay ones work just as well. This might help for you android folks:

Torque OBD 2 engine diagnostics — Torque

You're welcome.
