Excursion Detail

Took some time to detail our Ford Excursion, the following steps were done, you can "click on the image for a bigger size picture"

Exterior

Wash
Bug/oxidation block
Dry
Swirl remover applied by porter cable machine and removed by hand
Wax applied by hand and removed by hand.

Rear left panel had a long scratch, using 2500 sandpaper ( WET ) I was able to remove it, afterwards using our medium cut compound I buff the area, after that swirl remover and eventually wax, if you are going to do the sandpaper trick be aware that 2500 to 3000 grid is what we recommend also make sure that area is always lubricated.

I personally prefer to us water mix with our car shampoo, also make sure you pay extremely close attention of what are you doing otherwise you will go thru the clear coat and that be the end of that repair, I did the exercise to document the process, it is not something you want to do if you don't have experience with buffing machines.

As found
