06 SC vs Audi TT Mk.1
I was driving in Mexico today when I saw a silver 1st gen TT coming up fast in the rearview. I figured he was trying to be a hard-ass by going around me as fast as he could. So I went from 5th to third (rev-matching ftw
) and got in the throttle soon enough to end up dead even with him as he tried to pass. First it was door to door, then it was my quarterpanel to his door, then it was my rear bumper to his door, and I continued to walk away from him until about 125. When he caught back up, he gave me a thumbs up and asked what I had done.....
A few minutes later, he ended up directly behind me. So I decided it was my turn to be a hard ass. I downshifted again and took off, and of course he followed, but the result was the same, steadily walked away from him until we ended up getting out of it.
I did a little research and I'm thinking it was a 1.8T. Wikipedia says they were rated at 187hp (Turbo 20v I-4). I think its reasonable to assume he had maybe intake and a couple other simple bolt-ons because he kept about the same as my friends SC Scion tC (which he claims makes right at 200hp).....thoughts?
