06 ss/sc stg2 vs. stealth rt twin turbo

I ran a early 90's stealth twin turbo on the hwy way last night. We Started off at 65mph and i only went to forth gear instead of third. I started off about a car behind the stealth and by the time i was shifting into fith i was almost side by side with it. But i have my limits and don't like to street race. So i let off . Should i have taken the stealth a bid faster ?? Or did i do good against it for my mods. His twin turbo was bone stock !!

I think if i went to third i would have done better ! What do you guys think ? Other then me being a moron for street racing. I just had to know how i could do against a stealth.

if you started in a lower gear you would have took him. theyre not that impressive. i ran a bolted on at the track and i was dissapointed n his times. My dad has an RT and i thought theyd be quicker he was only running mid to high 13's with his mods

It depends on the mods. With the right bolt ons they can do 12's @ 110+ on the stock 9b's. Upgraded turbo's, I would stay away. Stock, you should be able to pull away and would have done better from 3rd. Why did you shift into fifth? Goin pretty damn fast eh?

Yeah... I was goin too fast for my liking. I really need a driver mod. As soon as i shifted out of fifth and into fourth. I thought too myself ( wrong gear ) . I should have went for third. I would have had him so much qwicker!! Ah well.... What ever 4th redlines at thats where i was goin speed wise. I didn't really look at the speedo. But my tach just about to touch 7000rpms. So i shifted into fifth and said thats enough for me. I was still able to reel him in from over a car to side by side with him. I had already made my piont. I just could have pulled ahead of him i think if i used third. The crazy part was, when i let off. He kept on going and didn't stop !! I guess too make him feel like he beat me. And he took a crazy sharp left turn at about 150+mph .... I wasn't feelin that crazy.

300zx is a completely different animal than the 3s's. they weigh a lot less and can make more power on the stock turbo's. The vr4s and rt/tt's can be quick with bolt ons (12's are pretty easily doable) but since they weigh almost 4k lbs they need bigger turbos to really get some good ET's/traps.
