06 ss/sc vs. 04-05 WRX
so this is the story. i went to 7-11 to get some delicious coffee. so i get my coffee and im on my way home. on the way home on montauk hwy, i see a white wrx with a white decal on the rear window "REDLINE". so im debating if i wanna play or go home. so, im looking at his car and all of a sudden i see some smoke come outta his exhaust. so now my mind is made up. he gets onto Robert Moses Causeway heading north. now getting onto robert moses, there is a sharp turn getting on the ramp and a sharp turn getting onto the highway. so naturally he guns it. by the time i get onto robert moses, he is already 15-20 cars ahead of me and he is still gunning it. so we are on it and speeds are 110+. by the time we reached Sunrise Highway i was on his ass. now, we get on sunrise highway and we are cruising at 80mph. i pull up next to him and look over but he wont look at me. im thinking he's not gonna run me but i give him the 3 honk start. after the 3rd honk he hits it! i was suprised. so i downshift to 3rd and im off. instantly i pull on him. i swear, i mustve put 15-20 cars on him by the time i hit 130. now i lil voice was telling me to slow down. so i slow to 80 and throw my hazards on....he flys by me but i gave him a thumbs up! and he responded with one also...nice guy. he had a nice looking car too. anywhos, thats my story. ive done pulls with just myself up to 120 but never in a race. HOLY HELL, i never realized how hard these ss/sc's pull until other cars dont even look like they are moving. sorry for the novel but thanx for reading.

good job inhale.... lol... you popped your cherry...... they are a good race, and from a dig you would have been dead, as we have no traction.... from a roll, at any speed, they are a walk in the park.

AWD isn't that slow from a roll. If the wrx was stock then it's probably slow from a roll and the SS should be able to pull on it. But modded ones are a diff. story. I did pretty well with a ss with a few mods. I think i ended up a bit ahead but I' m not sure so if the the guy i raced for fun see's this post then maybe he'll chime in and give more info.
But good kill....i guess

At autox I usually dominate FWD unless its something serious and made to be an autox car. Even still I'm running stock sway bars, stock springs, no strut tower, stock struts, stock tires.
I really really cant wait to get my cobb front and rear sway and strut tower and some stickier tires. I'm probably leave the springs stock for a while....
Other then that I dont have a good comparison for a rolling race with a Cobalt SS. Like I said I dont like street racing and there isnt a drag strip for roll racing hahaha...
Next time I goto Cecil County drag way I'm gonna try to get a Cobalt (hopefully one of you guys) and accell to 15-25mph line up then take off. Probably wont get kicked off the track hehehe
