06 SS/SC vs. Modded 300C HEMI
06 SS/SC vs. Modded 300C HEMI
so i ran into this 300c HEMI on the highway tonight(pimped out!), he flew by me in the HOV lane, so i decided to catch up. i paced him at about 85mph at which point he took off. naturally i did the same. we went to 125mph before we caught up to cars. in that time i only pulled him till his front bumper was at my rear bumper. this thing was quick! i took my exit and noticed that he followed, so i was thinkin maybe he was pissed at me or something. when i pulled in to get gas, he did the same, pulled next to me and rolled down his window to ask what kind of car i was driving. i told him and his jaw dropped when i told him it was a 2.0L, haha! when i asked, he mentioned that he had intake and exhaust and thats all he was gonna do performance wise. he had some chrome 20's and blacked out windows as well, pretty sweet... anyway, just a comparison for those who wondered about these cars if they had mods. my mods are in my sig. later!

You most likely saw a 300c SRT-8 beat that vette. The SRT-8s hit low 13s with ease.

You can identify the SRT-8 with the Brembo Brake Kit (Stock)
You can identify the SRT-8 with the enbroidered Leather Seats (SRT-8 On Headrest)
You can identify the SRT-8 with the small wing and the 4 caps on the rear bumper.
6.1L HEMI > COBALT

I raced a Chrysler 300 C SRT-8 on accident.
I was cruising down some back roads I've been down hundreds of times. Going my usual 15-20 mph over the post limit. (which is perfectly safe for this road).
I see head lights catching up behind me slowly. I slow down worried it might be a cop, then I'm able to see its a 300 C. So I speed back up. Then the jerk start tail gating me for I dunno what reason. So I punch it and a couple seconds, then glance in my rear view and he is still there. I'm like WTF is that. I KNEW the Hemi's wouldnt hang.
So I slowly start speeding up and the road becomes more and more windy. He tries to hang but the car was just to big for him to handle the road like I could. Luckily for me the road didnt have that many straight aways from that point on so he never not the oportunity to catch back up. By the time I got the a stop sign at the end of the road it took him 30-60 seconds to catch up and he was still flying.
I was seriously impressed with its raw power though. Once I got home I found that Chrysler puts the 425 horsepower Hemi SRT-8 in the 300 C. The car was very very very pimp, I wouldnt mind to sport one

320 whp @ 4075 lbs. (if wheels add 20 lbs A PIECE) > 220 whp @ 3000 lbs. 7.5 (# of whp to make up a 100 lb difference) x 10.75 (# of 100 lb differences) = 80.625. 100 (# of whp more) - 80.625 = 19.375 horses left over.

Basically, a claculation that 20" rims suck the HP out of your acceleration.
