Havent had any races in my cobalt since I bought it cause it is stock...

But yesterday on my way hm I finally had my first one and I was very proud of the cobalt....

So I am on the freeway cruising and this white eclipse with white rims comes flying by me. I can see that he looks like a younger kid so he might play...:-)

So I see if he will take my bait by getting at his back fender and drop it down to 4th... We are already cruising at 75.. As soon as I drop it down and give it a little gas he hears my stock motor revving and presses the gas. I am still pulling and he isnt even really moving but his car sure got loud...lol

So I go ahead and floor it in 4th and continue to pull up to the side of his car...
Me knowing that I have way more rpms I let of the gas and play with him a little bit by pushing and letting off the gas...

Then I wave and pull away from him like he is standing still...

90- fender on him
100- full car
109-3 cars and counting
110........... Wtf....govenor kicks in and car starts julting and I hit the brakes. he catches up and does a ricers fly by... Lol

I had no idea our cars had a govenor makes me want to chip it and get rid of it...

Was a good run...
Caught up to the guy and gave a thumbup...

Before you start doing high speed pulls please get some better, higher speed rated tires for safety sake.

I normally don't race at that high of speeds which really wasn't fast...lol
But I already have tires rated for 120mph... But good looking out

The Na eclipse has a 420a engine. Same engine a neon runs. The only thing is the neon is lighter so it's probably faster. Lol Na eclipses blow.

Better than a truck Hahaha. Nice kill. I remember having a mirage (75whp FTL) I raced a guy in a 2.2 cobalt and he walked me pretty good on a 40 roll. We both had intake/exhaust. Its was still close enough to be fun, but damn he got me. Hahaha.

 

Yea those n/a eclipses are slow as hell. You should have put it in third and really pulled on him. Ive been dead even with stock RSX type S, and Civic Si's before just out of my 2.2. Granted I know how to drive and the average person in those cars dont... I like how the LS surprises all the ricers. I dont like how at the end of the day its still slow compared to anything else nice.

 

^^^^thats impresive that a 2.2 can keep up with a rsx S or an SI. i didnt know they could be capable of this. what are your mods?

OP don't stoop. You kinda don't have a leg to stand on. I got my SC for 8,000 with 50k miles. I'm fairly sure you could have found one you could afford if you looked. And you would have loved it.

The rest of you, stop being dicks. He raced someone who was about at his level and won. Close, evenly matched races between similar cars are always the best ones.

BTW. I bet it felt great to walk away from that dude, huh? Like "I'm winning, I'm winning!!!!!" Hahaha
