Ran a 04-05 WRX earlier tonight from a dig (tried to get him from a roll also but he wouldnt go). Going from a dig was probably a mistake but eh...
All I have done to my 07' LSJ is OTT stage 1 and an Injen CAI.
From what I could tell he definitely had an exhaust, not sure what else...
We only went once unfortunately. I had a damn near perfect launch, pulled him in first. Shift into second and slightly squeeled my tires but kept on it. As soon as the tires shut up he was even with me and by the time we shut down right after I got into 3rd (est. 80-85)he had put a tad less than a car on me.

I think not having any cooling mods is hurting me a lot... but I feel I did ok considering it was from a dig. What do you guys think?

 

Thats pretty good, my friend raced a rex his lsj thats stock not sure what the rex had but he got beat by like 2-3 cars.

 

Its possible lack of cooling mods hurt you on the top end. you had him at the launch and as you heat soaked in 2nd and 3rd, he gained a little.
also, the OTT canned tune may leave a little power on the table as its not specific to your car.

 

Unless he doesnt know how to drive, I cant see you hanging with him at the launch. I can see you pulling on him once you hit 2nd and 3rd, but not at the beginning.

 

Bika, yeah that's what I was thinking as well. I've been trying to find a deal on a heat exchanger but no such luck thus far. It really sucks though because I really thought I would be faster than just a WRX... Good thing I haven't run into any STi's then LOL.

FutureEcotecOwner, it could be possible he doesn't know how to launch his car but then again I really don't consider myself too good either. Maybe average. It could have been any number of things, AWD cars bog down more I believe... Or he could have just messed up. He didn't give me any other chances to tell unfortunately but I did have him at the top of 1st... But still lost.

 

I got raped by a lightly modded STi at the track. He killed me off the line and i just couldn't close teh gap.

 

Bika, what are you running? What was your E/T and MPH vs his?
