You mean he's giving you a 4-car length head start? I'm confused. Also, can you drive? It's not an impossible race, anything can happen on the street, but I wouldn't bet any money on it.

ya i can drive good in my mind i ran a 14.3 w/ a 2.21 0-60ft last month bone stock and 4 car lengths is a hell of alot but i am ignorant when it comes to the newer mustangs

Well, they run mid 13's in the quarter, so a 4 car head start might put you close to even, but he will probably still edge you out in the end. Then again, you said 1/3 a mile, so maybe it will be closer. How do you race 1/3 mile anyway? Do you know a piece of road that just happens to be that length or something? Good luck and video tape it if you can. Not sure If anyone's posted a race against a new 'Stang.

remember a 1/3 mile is a lot more than a 1/4. that stang is going to pull HARD in 3rd.

i am gonna wait till next month i got a stg2 and gmp performace exhaust sitting in the garage waiting 2 get installed i will definetly video tape that ass raping he said it dont matter how much **** i put on he will give me 4 car lengths whenever i want 2 race=)

I think getting 4 car lengths is a slap in the face. And if you actually start a race from 4 car lengths ahead it just makes you look silly too. Start from the same place, Stock GT's are high 13 second cars, low 14's

sorry to say but with out stage 2 you will get walked.. i got walked at palmdale by an 07 mustang gt with 4:10 gears, full exhaust, and an intake(i was stage 2 and solid mounts). but ive also taken a stock 06 mustang gt from a 60 roll on a stock tune and basically crept away and kept pullin farther. and this was on a comp pack rl with an intake, progressive springs, custom exhaust and a other suspension goodies..

Stage II, shift-light, CAI, and maybe a smaller pulley should keep him from gaining back that 4 car head start. The exhaust won't help him much unless he has a tune. Depending on his custom exhaust, he may have lost some back pressure which may have lost him some HP. Let us know how it turns out.

From a stop you lose even if you are 2 cars ahead of him both stopped and both start at the same time. From a roll you should be equal. A roll + stage 2 you will be faster. I have beat 3 07 Gt's recently from rolls. 2 had exhaust and 1 was the 320 shelby with massive tires and I believe exhaust (sounded fantastic).

All 3 would be a second or so ahead of me in 1/4 mile. 1 of them couldn't drive at all. #2 blew a red light to catch me and lose from a roll. shelby was showing off to a friend and both were shocked as hell when I rolled past slowly and I started almost 2 car lengths behind.

Without stage 2 I would have lost to the shelby for sure. The other 2 It would be close. The higher RPM from stage 2 made a large difference. I wouldn't have gained my ground back fast enough with the 320hp mustang. When he shifted to 3rd I jumped even then started passing.

If this guy gives you a car length then you will probably race from a roll. The difficult thing is reacting to whatever his signal is for "go". Since he will be behind you he could very well be even with you by the time you react.

I say get StageII then make him wonder why he bought a rustang (I actually really like the new mustang models but I love that nickname more).

He did race me. He stalled off the line. Either because of the 300lbs guy in the passenger seat or because i am so good his car didn't want to go through the trouble? Probably the first reason. I am 100% sure maj and I are the same speed.

And I do hardly ever race.

But yeah, to the poster, Mustangs get beat here regularly - most won't race us now. But Stage 2 and not from a dig would really help you out for the newer stangs. If it's from a dig, i dunno - 4 cars lengths enough? I dunno - cause then by the time you start actually going, he's probably almost ready for 2nd gear.... Try even and from a roll, instead of a dig with lengths would be my advice.

not gonna lie i love mustangs, before the balt i had a 85 mustang gt 270HP, and as soon as i pay off the balt i think im gonna start workin on a 00-04 mustang. whenever we find time im racing this 01 mustang GT with exhaust, intake and i think some other litttle stuff. and dont worry ill be sure to film it.

biggest thing i am not sure about is how much of a difference is it gonna be b/c he has a different gearing than a stock 07 gt? he told me 2 cars from a 40 roll and i can honk and then 1 dead nuts next 2 each other from a 40 mph roll
