maaan! what a night! i wish i had my camera sooooo bad! i was at my friends house chillin. My cousins friend i guess got an 07 si for graduating, and everyone was like "dude! you guys have to race!" i was like hell yeah!. we went outside to check out the cars and im bone stock. he had a CAI. we went to an open road down the street. we line up from a stop. 3 honks were off! i get a kinda crapy launch but we're even i shift to second pull a little but he missed 2nd. we do a U turn to do it again. 3 honks off! we both get PERFECT launches. 1st gear we're even, we shift to second i start pulling go to 3rd and im about 1 1/2 cars ahead! i was pumped! the dude was cool about it gave me props and shuck hands. everyone saw the race said it sounded sweeet when we drove by side by side. the day i decide not to take my camera...i race a si...damn it! next time tho cause we're gonna crouise soon so we will race again, and post it up!

I wonder what would have been the outcome if he had a supercharger and nothing else?
Supercharged car vs non supercharged car... of course your going to win.

i like the SI one of my buddies from work just got one

i may beat on him a bit because stock for stock i'm faster and with my mods its not even a contest

but the SI has an awesome interior much better done up the the SS/SC and he prolly is not gunna have to bring his car to the dealer for stupid little **** and you know the cars not gunna blow before 175,000 miles

haha....have you ever actually read a honda forum?

they are a well built car theres no doubt.
but sometimes people give them a very inflated reputation.
they have just as many threads about problems as any other car.

Im not bashing either car, im just tired of seeing the SS/SC VS 07 Si, and seeing people talk trash on the Si, why even race them inless they are blown or have all the little go-fast mods? You know your going 2 win guys. And we know you will, so why do you post this **** up??

Yeah XAVIER. You need to hang out with us so we can get your car all jacked up.

Go 2.8" and 42's with a ported blower, intake and exhaust, and you will never need to race an Si again. Even the Greddy Turbo will barely hang in there.

thats true but with 2,000 miles on the car i am sure a SI owner would not have to bring their car to the dealer for warranty work like

-clips missing from "body kit"
-messed up weather striping

having a S/C has nothing to do with it.
the civic makes its power through Vtec and high compression pistons.
the ss makes power through a low compression + boost setup.

why are you tired of the SS vs SI, they are direct competitors...they are only about a half second off the pace and very close in price.

There is times a si beats a ss/sc. People just dont post it obviously. Most people only post kills not losses.

very true...the SI doesn't have "stage kits"..or torque for that matter..kinda were the SI is at a disadvantage

heres a few quick quotes for ya ang.

Civic has very poor interior quality. My new EX 07 in 5 months looks like I owned it for 3 years. Anything that is touched leaves a mark. Ride noise is something I never heard before. Like rolling in a tank.
I will agree with you on that. Most of us feel that the Civic took a real hit in interior quality on this generation of Civics.
My center cup holders, shifter and lower dash where really heating up bad.
known common problem....stickied on honda forums ^^

A few days ago I noticed that there was a puddle of water on the passenger side of the all season floor mat. I checked to make sure that the windows were rolled up and that the door seals were intact, which ruled out water from the outside of the vehicle.
Today, while cleaning the interior, I noticed that there was a lot of water under the floor mat. I removed the molding near the passenger side and lifted the carpet, and lo and behold the carpet was absolutely soaked with water!
I would like to know how many of you here at 8th have mis-alligned body panels. My 2007 Si looks like a bunch of monkey's put it together.

Si IS Honda's competitor to the SS. And both are good cars.

I was impressed from the first time I saw the protoype for the Si, and really like the looks of them. Best looking Civic yet, and the most powerful one. I was nervous my first time racing on when they first came back, because I heard a lot of good reviews about them, and really expected them to be fast. They are quick cars no doubt, and most cars in our category would have to try hard to beat them.

All cars are bound to have problems, afterall they are usually built by high-school drop outs, rednecks, or under educated hispanics. And believe it or not, MOST of your defects with a car will happen before 10,000 miles. After that, it's normal wear and tear.

I like the Si cluster. Very different from the norm, probably why you were not liking it.

And Si's make Tq too.........you just have to wait about 6500rpms for it to develop! ~135lbs at ~6500 rpms. WOW! Makes you wonder what it has at 2500rpms, maybe 80tq. I don't imagine they have TorqueSteer huh?
