08 r32 owned by 08 t/c

well.. my friend lol.. we will call him johnny boy jb for short owns a 08 t/c.. one day some random guy pulled up to jb and started reving.. jb decided to bass him with his 13w7. this poor little fella in the 08 vw r32 windows were about to shatter with all the decibels pounding. jb has about 150lbs more weight in his car then he should due to the 13w7. well long story short.. the guy keeps revin. so the light turns green and the t/c owns him all the way to 60 by a car length and a half. slightly chirping from 1st to 2nd. so the 13w7 is turned down at the next light and the r32 rolls his window down with the wtf face. jb points to the brembos and says big brakes = fast car. dont mess with cars with brembos. then begins to comment and lecture the owner of the r32 because he has awd and how the vw should have easily pulled off the line. its a shame that those cars are 10k more then the t/c and are that slow. moral of the story. dont be afraid of those pesky 08 vw r32s they are slow!

I'd never pay the price for one, but I love them... One of the best sounding engines on the planet and a gorgeous interior.

Took one a few months ago too and the sound of it was indeed amazing. Not sure what he had done to it though. He was cool about it too.

LOL, I completely agree with you.

I only hope that you know that you just used an SRT-4 excuse though.
That is something that has been said by us since 2003.

Take the Honda Civic MUGEN. They threw on a bunch of body accents and changed the suspension and charge over $30k for it. And it is still as slow as the regular Si. Zero power adders for it.

I don't know who in their right mind would go with buying one of those when they could get an Evo or STi for the same price with AWD and WAY more power and potential.

There is a MUGEN on base here in Goldboro and I was like "what the....." IMO that is just money thrown away.

A slightly modded GTI will tear the MK5 R32 up. I love the sound of that VR6 exhaust. I got a buddy with a stg 2 turbo and it will lit up all fours!

Being able to get around in the snow when no one else can could be invaluable.

As far as the big brakes comment, the Cobalt SS has 12.4" front rotors, and the R32 has 13.6". I just wish they gave it a normal 6 speed manual. It would bring the cost down a bit.

This is mostly to keep you nut-swingers from getting out of hand, before someone calls anyone who buys a foreign car a terrorist (I've seen it).

VW doesn't need to compete with Chevy, and Dodge. They just want to build a solid car. VW mostly competes with Ferrari, TVR, and Zonda. If you want a fast V-Dub, buy a Veyron.

they are **** slow. but they are pretty and have a nice exhaust note. i guess that awd and solid chasis really slow the puppy down. but the cobalt tc also has a nice exhaust note and that single pop no lift **** is butter. while the vw has the bigger rotor the t/c has the nicer calipers. you should def be weary when you pull up next to a car with brembos, willwoods, endless, bbks, rotoras, or stoptechs. i think that vw only has 2 piston while the t/c sports the 4 piston.. so while the rotor surface area is a inch bigger it doesnt make up for the fact that it has only 2 piston.. in my opinion vw did a **** poor job. that car for the price should be able to hang with the stis and evos. the quality on the vdub is nice but why is it lacking so much in the performance aspect. a v6 accord could roll on that car. hell the 370z is a much better car in that price bracket. i guess in the us market the competitors for the vw are the a3, the mini, and volvo c30.. this car just doesnt fit into a bracket. and if you want german for a few thousand more just buy the 135i. vdub needs to up the horses by 50 and drop the weight to at least 3200lb. ok i am done ranting. and im sticking to my statement dont get all rev happy at a stop light if your neighbor has brembos it makes you look dumb.

veyron is nice but to weird.. my first choice would be the lambo lp640
