08 SS/TC vs 02 Camaro SS
Some people wanna race me with an 02 Camaro SS. They said it was stock, and mine is also stock. Who do you think would win assuming that we were equal drivers?
#2
If it is a stock SS; it'll be a drivers race in the lower RPM's....
Upper RPM's you may pull for a little while until the turbo runs out of air...

Knew this would come up,lol.I think it would very interesting race tuned tc vs. o2,,but no match for much modding on the 02.I would love to beat the guy parks next to me all the timeThey get 315 or so at the wheels and are no slouch.

Take my (turbo) word for it... you have a better shot in the lower RPM's....
The faster ou go, the more you get walked (unless you shut down aound 120mph)

A stock SS/TC is going to get pulled on by an LS1 SS no matter how you cut it. Dig, 40 or 60 roll, top end... Just no.
Take a few corners and it's a different story... Straight line stock vs stock? You're going to lose this one, but you should 'hang' with him..
Get tuned and lay waste to him.

I doubt its stock dude trust me I own 1.
These cars are 10 second cars out of the box with a tune.
8 second cars if you got the dough

HPtuners even has a 10 second tuned Camaro running high 10's

LOL silly people thinkin they can take the Camaros LOL Yeah right . F-bodys are king of the street and strip right now and I don't see this changing either .

stock for stock the TC will loose.
But with a tune it may be a different story..............
My 99 Z28 M6(non SS) with a lid/k&n drop in/slowmaster catback exhaust went 13.29 at amost 107mph at 3450lbs without me in it, weighed at a CAT cert scale.
Dynoed a little over 290 wheel in that trim.
A tuned SS/TC will run about that mph give or take based on what hahn has run on drag radials,
so with a tune I think a TC will outrun a bone stock SS, as the SS's were not that much faster than a base Z28, the SS pkg was mostly appearance, better lsd, wheels, stickers, hood, suspension/etc
had a slightly diff catback and a raised airbox with the ram air hood, motor was essesentially the exact same, but they ran about the same times as a z28 did stock, give or take a mph or so. We all know the 305 hp rating on a base z28 ls1 in those days was underrated, as most cars were dynoing 270 to 280 wheel stock back then.

LOL! 10 second cars with a tune?! and i thought your logic in that other thread was funny. you are straight up tripping on acid if you think that is even close to a fact. the ls1 f-bods are quick cars, but not even remotely close to 10 second cars with a tune. with a tune and the other basic bolt ons you'll probably see mid 12's on average. 11's cammed. there are a few cam only f-bodies in the 10's, but not without a VERY aggressive drag setup.
here are the facts kiddies so listen up.
ls1's will run low 13's trapping usually between 106-108 (as the best the average person will ever acheive stock). some have gone 12's and trapped higher, it is possible, but most will run low 13's maybe dipping into 12's. a stock ss/tc will get run down hard by an ls1 from any speed if the person can drive and no tune only ls1 will go anywhere near the 10's.

as a former Ls1 f-body owner, I can tell you... hope the LS1s you race are stock:
because once a tune and some bolt-ons come into play(or a higher stall on an auto), those cars get straight up nasty, and they LOVE the nitrous, like 150 shot on stock internals...
and then when you see cammed/nitrous cars going low 11s, yeah, you pretty much understand not to **** with modded ones

sorry i just dont like to see horribly wrong information being posted . i'll tell you what, you find me one tune only ls1 that has run 10's without at least 800++ pounds in weight reduction and countless other chassis mods, i'll type in my sig that im your bitch. until then, stop throwing out bs information.

thank u cakeeater lol...these guys with LS1 thank there cars are just monsters...some are dont get me wrong but no every LS1 car is nasty...Put a STOCK 2003 or 2004 cobra agaisnt a STOCK LS1 an see who wins...Top of the Line Mustang and Top of the line Chevy Camaro SS or WS6 instead of them bashing 4 cyl.

2000 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am (WS6) 4.9 13.4
Sounds like a drivers race to me.

yeah thats what im saying though get something thats a lil more even match then a bone stock 14 sec cobalt, unless u have a modded ss sc or ss tc that would be a little better race...and most of these LS1 cars are hole shot cars at the track netting them lower 1/4 mile times then a front wheel drive car lol...do a roll race or something be a different story
