09 ss/tc vs 99 ninja 600

I kno its an older bike but my buddy just got it and wanted to run.. So I said sure, 40 roll, o was expecting to be pulled honestly but long story short I pulled him by about a half a car, maybe a full length.. Shut down at like the middle of fourth.. I'm pretty happy with the outcome ..not a super serious fast bike.. But it was still a bike lol

WHAT??? Since when do all the good riders have 1000s? this just made me

I know plenty of 600 riders that are nutty

Can't say he's a bad rider, nor a good one? He's bad, strait up. If that bike is running 100% it wont lose to a cobalt. I had the exact same bike but renamed in 05 to zzr600..never lost to a car. Raced a 420whp teggy from a 40 and beat it easily. Raced my boys 330 whp teggy and strait up **** on it. I know for a fact that 330 whp teggy would be a very very close race with a tuned, mildy modded ss/tc. Take it for what its worth from someone who had the same bike and has raced some quick cars..your friend needs more practice with the bike. With a 600 it's as easy as starting off a gear or two high and the race is a challenge or lost. From 40 with that bike he should still be in first gear with the stock gearing, around 11k rpms..redlines at 14..hit 13.5k at every shift and that bike will be outttt. Get a rematch when he learns how to ride.

Yea, 600-650s don't have much top end. They pull about like a supercharged car.

Cool

whats even more scarry about older bikes. I used to have a 2000 katana (slightly modded ..shhh), well anyway, srt-4 pulled on me going 65ish one night...wants to run...i just laugh and put it in 4th, not being aggressive at ALL btw...hes of course pulls me by like semi-trucks lol...he slows and laughs at me..I finally get aggrivated that he still wants to go..down to 2nd i go and out run him like a betch. I pull into a gas station to get gas, and here he comes, rev'in the crap outta his lil srt-4 and also gets gas. Asks what i got since hes like "those can-o-tunas only push like 90hp??? wtf dude". all i say is, not stock bro, not stock.

P.O.S is older bikes beats turbos.

Is that so?

And where exactly do you pull on 600's? What's done to your car?

A properly running / driven 99 600 ( the ninja was one of the slowest btw and still pulls 10.9's low 11's all day long ) should NEVER be beat by a bolted tuned cobalt ss. I'm just saying you might kill certain bikes because they are not up to par nor the driver but unless it is like a 90 hp 1996 or lower 600 you shouldn't beat it. Now the way older ones mid 90's or so only ran high 12's and topped out stock at around 140 so that I could believe.

But on that note good kill , it is always fun to mess with someone who can't ride their bike but remember that isn't a car beside you one false move and that bike and rider can be under your tires in a instant so be safe .

those times are usually ran by pros. saying every 600 should run low low 11's is like saying every ss/tc should run 13.5 stock.

But we are not talking about a dig race here , btw I dunno how you guys do it up there in the north but here in Mississippi I guess there are just all around better bike riders. But a bike should not lose from a 40 nor a 60 roll those are some of the sweet spots even a older bike.

Maybe all you guys race in elevation or something dunno but at sea level a adept driver should pull away from a bolted tuned cobalt in a bike that traps over 120 against a car that traps 116 max. Like I said you can beat a driver I was just saying that every bike won't be like that since not all have inadequate drivers nor are the mishandled.

I believe I pointed that fact out and told him good races but hearing people say they can pull 600's like it isn't anything is just kinda well wrong. Especially newer 02 up bikes which trap well into the 120's. I am a member of a lot of bike forums , I used to own bikes all my life but my wife doesn't like them and so I don't have one at the moment. But I do go to the local track with all my old bike buddies.

I'm usually the first one to back people up but the fact is a less than 400 hp cobalt should not pull on a bike unless it is a young 90's model.

Once again good races though, like I said it is nice to beat someone on a bike but just do it carefully I have seen my share of horror stories I think we have one on video on the laptop .

My buddy is coming out this weekend so I'll prob run him again, I'll get a video, he's still kinda new to the bike so maybe its the rider, idk I'm not running around saying I can pull 600s cuz I know that's not the case, I was just surprised, I figured even with him being a newer rider he'd pull me, but hopefully I'll get a video and post it on here and let you guys be the judge if its a bad rider or not.. And yes I'm careful, very lol

A new rider is far less proficient on a bike than a new driver in a car. In a car your shifting suffers, that's about it. On a bike as a new rider, you can't take full advantage of the bike because you're probably going to kill yourself if you do.
