09 SS TC vs Boosted 240
I was driving down the strip in my area when a car with a pair of hid's very low to the ground and an offset plate pulls out behind me. I dropped it into 2nd gear hoping he would catch my drift. There is a highway within a half mile so i begin to make my trek. He is following me and I believe I hear a turbo flutter. It was beautiful. I came.
We get on the highway and he pulls up next to me. He's rollin three muthafuckas deep in his 240. We exchange no words, but both down shift to a 60 roll. He raises three fingers, then two, then skrrrrrrt. (Not really, I don't spin in 3rd, lol). I hit the gas and put four greyhound buses on this kid. I was thoroughly disappointed. I stop after I hit 90 and saw he was so far behind.
I slow to cruising speed and he pulls up next to me again to which i holler "WTF man? How much boost are runnin?" He gestures me to hold on and adjusts some things. "Let's go again!" He says. Again the fingers go up and we take off. To my dismay I put four greyhound buses on him again. It's like he was trying to race from 5th gear. I cooked it to 120 and made my way to my exit. At this point I was quite disappointed. He pulls up to me for a third time, not to race but to make excuses, and says it won't boost.
From what I can decipher he either had clocks for boost guages or he was telling the truth and is suffering from a severe case of murphy's law. Either way he was a pretty cool guy.
I look forward to racing him someday soon on proper turbos and junk.
P.S. I'm on a trifecta tune.

i raced my friends sr20 swapped 240sx when i was on trifecta budget tune. we started at a 80km and right away i took him by half a car length while he spooled up but he reeled me in that half a length by the top of 3rd, we both grabbed 4th and he fell behind by a fender ever so slowly coming back. by the time we shut down at 220km/h+ the cars were dead even. properly boosted 240's are no joke

Not sluggish enough lose by buses. At stock boost they make about 250whp. Just bumped up to 10 they put down about 280whp and rev for days. Not to mention those cars weigh about 2800lbs. Something was wrong with it.

i will agree something was up the the 240. like i said a sr20 with a tiny t28 turbo will give you a run for your money, that rb25 should have pulled on you. go race him again but with vids this time!

Agreed with Ozzy^ Probably the extra weight and shitty tune/issues. The RBs sound so good too!
But there is this video I found so maybe the outcome is correct.
Traps 105 on 7 PSI and a properly tuned SS will trap close to 110. But then 7 vs 20+ PSI on different sized turbos, so I dunno.
Good kill either way!

Haha, yeah exactly. The few RB 240 swaps I've encountered would rape train a tuned LNF. But there is a lot of $$$ into their build at that point, so the only choice you have is to go big.
