2.2 coupe vs v6 mustang

so today I was on my way home from college on the freeway and a red mustang comes flying and stops right besides me and starts reving his engine, it was pretty clean street,, so I said what the hell lets see what I can do,, so we did a 45mph roll and I stay side by side to him till about 75, and then he started pulling slowly, but i stayed at his rear tire the whole time,, maybe bumper to bumper at most,,, they we did a 60mph roll and stay side by side for a lil and again he slowly pulled away till the rear tire was at my bumper,,

after all this he lower is window to give me a thumbs up and I happen to have study with him in middle school so I told him to pull over to talk a lil,, and he has intake every thing else is stock, and im stock,, only thing I have is a KN drop in,, I think I did pretty good

im an auto,, hes manual

if its a 3.8 they are a dog. The 4.0's make 210hp and 240tq. I had the same 4.0 in my ranger (different cam) and it made 207hp and 238tq. I tell you that engine is no slouch. Although I had 4.10s in it at the time I easily handed a cobalt LT (sedan) its ass while getting on the freeway.

Stock the truck ran like 16.x or so, but after adding the 4.10s, JBA header 2.5" back borla exhaust, KDW2s, Explorer Express supercharger it easily hit low 14s in arizona heat with a tune.

My mom had a 2002 V6 auto Mustang and it was pretty slow. Especially when you usually think of Mustangs beging quick and nice sounding like GT's. My dads '04 Monte SS is far quicker, and it's the same set-up. 3.8L V6 auto. Same hp range. 200-ish. But the Mustang is just geared terribly with the auto. The only 2 things that are better with the Mustang V6 over the Monte / your Cobalt is 1. RWD = snow time fun. lol. And 2. Girlies usually prefer Mustangs. Sorry. haha.
