2.2 nitrobalt vs. Evo MR IX

long story short I challenged one of the rich kids that plays at my field to a race. his evo IX has a turbo back but thats about it to his knowledge. well he expected the offer so we wind up in lemont somewhere industrial and dead. good spot but my son points out we're fighting an up hill battle, and like the ass i am i didn't think much of it at the time. we line up and we go on three honks, his count. i did the brake torque thing and launched it at 2000rpm and he jumped on me off the line. By the time my lights were at his back door we hit 2800 and the 75 shot kicked in as weak as can be. now this is clearly my fault, no heater. so anyway the car still pulled hard and we gained a little ground through second but we were already a car behind and felt the car lose power at 6000rpm in second. the juice shuts down then but this time it really gave out so i shut it down. all in all i didn't get creamed and i had a blast. i'd say it wasn't a bad loss.

Lol, awesome.

Of course we all know that Evos are easy to beat. Now if it was an SRT-4, you would need a space shuttle to keep up!!

The dude in the EVO couldnt drive for ****, you would need alot more than a 75 to beat that car with a good driver.

But props for going up agings an EVO with ur 2.2..........

an evo X??? thos arent even being sold yet, maybe an IX. and to be owned by a stage 3 cobalt in an EVO 9, would deffinately be a drivers race, but only if the EVO was stock.

i wonder how my stage 3 cobalt would hold up to my evo??? hmmmmm...

Haha... my Stg 2 Cobalt has beat Stock AND a few modified Evo's. And stage 3 is a whole other story... I've seen a Stg3 pull low 12 second passes at 110-113mph. There isn't a Stock Evo in the world that can beat that sort of speed.

GM Stage 3... or INTENSE Stage 3? Was he shooting N2O?

I find that REALLY hard to believe. A new Lancer... yes... it's competitive market is the Cobalt LS.

A Cobalt SS/SC, stage 3 at that, and you're keeping up? No way. I gave one a 7 car head start once and wasted the hell out of it.

no NOS GM stage 3, which he just got, note he burnt his clutch out with in the first week of owner ship. and i think he wasnt trying with me. the lancer on the other had did try and its fast the run the ss/sc did with me he only ran a 14.01 to my 15.84. like i said they dont realy know how to drive sticks. i had it on video but my dumb self deleted it on accedent.

on second thought he says its stage 3 never seen under the hood it might be stock.

my fastest time that day was a 15.5

What did you just say?

The Lancer SHOULDN'T have been THAT fast...

Horsepower @ RPM (Fed./Cal.)* 152/143 @ 6000
Torque @ RPM (lb-ft.) (Fed./Cal.) 146/143 lb.-ft. @ 4250

And if the SS/SC driver can pull a 14.01... he can at least drive sort of good. Bad SS/SC drivers usually pull mid to high 14's/low 15's. Bad driver or not... it should still pull from an LS... unless he left it in 5th.

It just doesn't add up, you know what I mean?
