2.4 SS VS. New Civic SI
There I was on east bound RT. 100 heading home from work minding my own bizz just tooling along in the left lane at about 65 or so when I cruise past a white SI in the middle lane. I look over and think to myself not bad looking car in white and I continue on. About 2 seconds after I pass him he passes me and cuts me off and then slows down! I'm like WTF! What an ass! So I get into the middle lane and start to get back up to speed and I look over as I go past him and imagine that he's pointing down the road, I waive and punch it. Well I guess he wasn't 100% ready so I jumped him a little maybe had him by a door I guess but he pulled back even and we were neck and neck then he shifted and dropped back alittle and didn't fly right back up. I thought huh I may be able to at least keep up as I really didn't expect to walk him. Then he shifted again and dropped a little more now his front bumper was even with my drivers side front door. Well we were coming up on traffic and 120mph so we both lifted and hit the brakes. The traffic got heavy and before I could look back over and waive he was stuck behind a slow ass Dodge pickup and I just cruised on home.
I drive this way home every day so maybe we'll have a rematch. I'd at least like to tell him good race.

LOL! Didn't drop anything other then the peddle! I have an automatic 2.4 SS sedan! LOL!
Thanks guys like I said I never expected to walk him and I was surprised I did as well as I did. Like you said maybe it was cause I got the jump :::: shrug :::: But I'd be willing to try it again if I run into him again.

no no, i wasnt trying to **** on ure parade man!! By no means!! Iam glad you took him, its just that SI "should" run a little faster than a SS/NA!! Unless you got modds, then who the hell knows!! But tumbs wwwaayy up man!! good kill!!

Oh noooo I know that! Its all good man I didnt take that the wrong way at all. Like I said I really didn't expect to do that good.

Ok i just looked at stats,
SS/NA 0-60 7.1 sec 1/4 15.4
06 SI 0-60 6.8-7.4 1/4 15.1
Damn the SS/NA is closer than i though,.. So yeah if u have the intake and maniold and he was stock, mean you guys should be about neck and neck from a digg, but from a roll, you should be able to at least keep up with him with a 5 speed. Now ure auto, so i cant comment on that, but apparently u kept up/passed him!! Nice kill, nice kill!! those 2.4 are faster than i thought man!!

Thanks man! Wow I never realized how close the cars really are! I guess with a better driver the Honda may have done better :::shrug::: who knows but now I'm stoked!

oh yeah, i didnt know how close they where to, I mean they are faster, not doubt, but like not by much. I mean u can google search it... I just went cobalt 2.4 o-60 and it gave me the specs of motor trend, then i went 06 honda civic si, and it gace me the stats!! I saw 1/4 time that ure car was faster, but it really depends on the day!! But overall the SI should be faster, but still man it isnt by much!! I have higher respect for those bigger 2.4 man!! they are fast!! and prob wont have the problems later in life the hopped up 2.0 will have! Heck ure motor is supose to be better quality than the SI's hahahaha!!

So This is coming down to a drivers race then I guess? So my Cobalt didn't beat his SI,

man everytime i read this stuff i always kick myself for not getting the ss/na or the ss/sc cause those cars already look nice and have the performance id like. man id really go for a ss/na right about now ina red witha stick 
but i got my 2.2 for 12 flat so the ss/na was like 4 grand more at the dealer. o well. i guess im just gonna have to live with my LS lol i still like it though. its a fun car. sometimes i think i have to much fun in it
