2 Cobalt SS T/C vs. Evo X

Met up with a couple of guys to have a little fun. The first race is actually my old car. It just has GMS1. I figured the race would be close since my Evo is a fat ass. Second race is a friend of the guy who bought my old car. It is Trifecta tuned. Sounded like it had at the very least an intake and some sort of exhaust modification.

Sorry for the dark video but its not too bad...

You can edit it on youtube and make it brighter, auto edit feature typically does the trick. nice races!

I previewed the brightness enhancement and it looked awful so I left it as is. Thanks!

What do you mean held up? It's a Cobb Stage 2 tune. Basically a pig rich canned tune. I am getting pro tuned though. Just working on a wideband. The one I bought needs to be switched out. Then Hollywood will be doing his magic.

The Trifecta car did do better actually. Was maybe one car loss. I need to plot a log in virtual dyno but based on others I assume I'm around 290whp. Not much at all.

exactly its a garbage tune that doesnt do much power wise. Gms1 and trifecta are better tunes than cobb and the cobalt is a few hundred lighter, this is why im suprised ur car didnt lose.

Ams did a good job etuning mine. Hit 12's with a consistant 109 trap at 85* F day with just exhaust, ebcs, ic, licp, and a k&n drop in. That was on stock airbox and stock uicp. Virtual dyno read 343 whp / 300 wtq.

Ah okay yeah. I don't think it's garbage it's just super conservative. I didn't even know AMS did E-Tuning. That's awesome.

Was that a custom pro tune or an OTS map? Mods? What happened to your X?

drive mod? how can an estimated 290whp evo take a 300+whp cobalt from a roll? less hp + extra weight + AWD = loss normally?

good runs none the less!

Ya know, I was thinking about this too. For all we know, the Trifecta guy coulda been super conservative. The GMS1 car makes sense seeing as how most put down around 260-275whp.

There is something about Evo Xs though... Its like they make and use power differently. My torque curve could be superior or something.

I remember I raced a buddy's Ralliart (built, E85, etc) when I was on the BNR in my Cobalt and even on a busted valve and crap tune (which we found out later) we were pretty much neck and neck until the very end where I slowly pulled him.

I could liken it to the GTR (obviosly completely different car). They seem to beat cars much lighter than them with similar power. Twilight Zone Power or something...
