Hey, has any 2.2L run against the 2006 civic? (not si) Just curious as to how they compare. They are lighter than us, but they have the usual import torque.

So, if no one has, what do you guys think the outcome would be from a launch and/or a roll?

 

Well, this thread bit the dust! I guess the civic just isn't worth racing.

 

Most people could care less about 15-16 second cars racing. So the same could be said about your Cobalt not being worth racing.

 

vs a 1.8 you should have no problem dude

 

vs a civic a cobalt will win by atleast 3-5 car lengths in the quarter

 

and also 280z1977...it doesnt matter how fast the car is it matters how much fun u have while your doing it

 

How does a mid 15 to high 15 second car easily put 3-5 car lengths on a car that puts out somewhat similar times???

Biased and arrogant??? How so... just because you don't like people telling you that your car is slow and that most people don't care if you can beat a minivan or not?

I hate going to my local track and having dozens of 15 second cars dragging water up to the line and taking so long to stage, etc. Also when going street racing it is more dangerous for these 15 second cars to race. My car can (or almost) stop as fast from 100 as your cobalt (and other slow cars) can from 60. At least some other slow sport compacts come with decent brakes, SIs, SVTFs, TCs, MINIs, SE-Rs, etc.

If you can't see why racing 15 second cars is lame, not to mention boring, then you need to go buy a horse and buggy.

Also to add, the thread starter actually started talking **** about another slow car, that = doubly lame.

I am trying to help them improve... don't race until you have at least a 14second car, that can stop in a reasonable amount of time/distance.

 

If you dont care then dont post on this guy's thread! If your car is god and this car is just **** on the bottom of your boot, then why do you have to post and be an jerk?

280, sometimes I think your a jerk and too opinionated and then other times you surprise me and are actually very knowledgeable and useful and a good guy to have around. I have nothing against you except your attitude on this thread.


To the poster, The times on these cars are so similar that you just need to run one and see what happens, but be careful, please and post the results.

 

i agree with you on that one, especially about the brakes. very important to be able to stop.

What warrented him talking crap like that? He has a BASE cobalt. For that matter why does anybody talk crap about certain types of cars. At least I say I have a dislike for 15 second cars and slower that "race" and provided reasonable reasons as to why I do. I am getting tired of seeing "Hondas are ricer/POSs" or insert any type of car, all the time on this site. Grow up people and have some respect.

I came from a turboed vibe 280 to this 2.4(slower car) so we all dont move up in cars and I bet the vibe I had would give you a good tun

First of all, when the kid replied that the Civic wasn't worth racing, it was a sarcastic comment because nobody had replied to the thread. If he didn't think it was worth racing, he wouldn't have wasted his time posting.

Face it, you were wrong. And going off on him was wrong. I hate the tons of BS that go on here as well but going off like you did only makes one person look bad and that's you.

ive already raced a 06 civic ::not the si:: and beat it by 4 cars by 80 that is where i got my measurement from...the civic only gained 12hp and like 10lbs torque compared to the model b4 and gained about 50-100lbs i believe.....
