Why must the owners of these automatically think they can be beat a SS/SC? I have had a guy call me out on our local forum. His mods include a CAI, plenum spacer and some kind of exhaust.

So what do you guys think?

Can he really talk this much smack and stand behind it?

with ur mods u should hold ur own, what year is his car? If you don't beat him u will surprise him thats for sure.

by the time we race: Stg 2, 2.8, CAI, magnaflow exhaust, hopefully the spec s2+ and spec's flywheel

I think it's a 2004 with the 6 speed and LSD rear end

his best time with those mods was a 14.2 at 99

 

I find the 03-04's are slower than the 05-06's. It should be a good race

A friend of mine has a 350z and he tried to burn me on the expressway one day, but was quite surprised when I was still there with him. All I have is an Ingalls Torque damper, and I also shifted to 3rd while doing 60.

 

from what I see the 350Z is a mid 14 second car stock and should be a pretty good race for the Cobalt. Watch out for the ones with the turbo kit as I have seen these run in the high 11's.

You should win. They run mid to low 14's with an alright driver there slower then 05GT's and you guys dont have alot of trouble with them. Get in on tape.

put him in his place, with the mods you said you would have when you race him, you should be able to get him

especially from a roll too since hes a 6spd

 

with your mods you will have no problems.....

 

MY firend has a Z with a nismo intake and exhaust (manual not auto) ive raced him a few times and from a dig its a good race hes usualy ahead through first then i catch in second and pass all the way through third and from a roll i have a car lead on him so if u are able to nail ur launch u should win.

 

ok this 350z is my twin brothers he is very cocky.....his mods are jwt popcharger,aap intake plenium spacer,custom y pipe, and z1 test pipes, his is a 04 enthusiast model with the lsd.....he put 224rwhp with the y pipe and a air boxmod ::b4 the jwt popcharger::....with the other stuff he is saying he is going to be at 245-250rwhp....so i think it will be a good run if not repoman leading

 

I think that you can take him...my car is bone stock and I pulled on a z in 2nd, then held through most of third, and lost my ass in 4th.

my brother has an 04 with and exhaust .. i have race him a few times and everytime i beat him by car and half ... but i dont catch him til 2 ... he can launch better having the rwd advantage ..... it will be a close race but i belive you will win ... just dont miss a gear

 

Sorry, but what is that?

My experience was only against an auto 05 350z the first month I got my car. I was cruising on the highway around 110km/h and he came flying by me and then slowing down beside me and kept lurching forward to try to get me to run him. We punched it around the same time at about 90km/h and I had a 1 car lead by the time we hit 190km/h. Pretty sure he was stock, as am I.

 

He might be spraying himself. Be cautious you might bight off mor then you can chew if hes hiding something. If not then he bit off more then he can chew.
