stupid for going that fast with no seatbelt, especially on the street.

As far as I'm concerned it's not safe to operate any vehicle without a seatbelt, regardless of speeds.

I agree that its stupid to drive without a seatbelt at all....but considering the speed, I don't think a seatbelt would have made much of a difference if the **** hit the fan...just sayin

You'd be surprised. You can survive a 100+mph crash. It really depends on what happens (what you hit, where you hit at, how the car reacts, ect...) and if you're wearing your seatbelt you have a much better chance of surviving and almost no chance of being thrown from the car.

If you're thrown from the car you have almost no chance of surviving.

Well motorcycles don't have seatbelts... I have seen people survive a 160mph highside and get tossed off the bars like a rag doll. I myself have been tossed at 60mph I <3 leathers... But a car is different... if you aren't wearing a belt you can be tossed into the windshield and break your neck before you are thrown from the car... ask a cop or a firefigher how many people survive gnarly accidents cuz of belts... Its one thing to slide to a stop in the grass wearing a 1/4 inch of cow hide... it is another to be thrown onto the pavement without anything in the way of protective gear.

That's exactly how I know. I've seen some very twisted up cars where the driver just walked away with a couple bruises.
