400hp civic?

I was just getting my windows tinted, and talking with one of the guys doing it, and he showed me his civic si that was turboed. he said it was putting out 400hp.

Whaaaa?

I know you can basically make any car 1500hp with enough ridiculous mods, but a 400hp civic?

Was he just talking shyt, or is that pretty possible?

What, by 200$? Any "regular" car isn't worth that much in 10 years, regardless of whether its an import or domestic.

OH stop the imports are better crap! And the import bashing!

Sure you can get a Civic to 400 hp no problem. Thing is how long will it last at that level?

For me it's usually 5-6 years and I'm out. I'm thinking RWD for my next ride.

Sure 400hp 180lb/ft torque ROFL ROFL ROFL Its a roll car. Bet a STOCK Cobalt LS runs the 1/8th mile side by side with him. BTW real men dont race from a roll.

eh, a turbo will bring the torque up a shitload. any fwd car with that much horsepower on the street is a roll car. If you tried to launch that thing half throttle on the street you would spin thru third easily. You'd want drag radials for daily driving and slicks for the track. oh and also, with the horrible traction fwd gives you, you would be MUCH better off having 400hp and 180 ft lbs in that light of a car than having 400hp and 400 ft lbs. at least in most situations. 400 ft lbs in fwd = ZERO traction especially with a car as light as a civic.

Seems like a sweet turbo like that should go on a...um..more "performance oriented" car.. But hey, civics are decent, and he would walk me, so who am I to judge...

Thanks guys

good post. You are right it would be better off with a better car, but they probably spent a VERY small amount of money making that thing, so performance/dollar it was probably a great deal. i wouldn't drive it tho lol.

shoulda asked to check it out. a local guy here kept telling me his stang was supercharged and he wanted to race. finally went to his house and told him "lets go" and he told me "no, i meant i was getting it supercharged". he's probably going to order it or has it in his garage in pieces.

he could have been, but with a turbo kit like that.. it might be safe to assume he has a couple of other mods done
i think that kit is $4,200 isn't it?
and as far as the torque thing.... read below the pic of my car

you could piece together your car from ebay too... but when it blows up cause "you get what you pay for".. don't cry

roight... You can get an old beater crx for extremely cheap, do some internal work, turbo it, maybe put in a stronger tranny and all the bolt ons u need for under 12 grand. Hondas are shitty, but they mod cheaply and are cheap to begin with.

And anybody with a 400hp Civic would never be caught dead with V6 Mustang.
