6.0 gto's are so fast
It looks like a grand prix and cavalier had a baby....
i agree with this as well.

just for the record, Stock LS1(5.7) GTO's and LS2(6.0) GTO's run the same stock times.
Modded ss/sc's can't touch a stock 5.7 GTO with a good driver.
Stock SS/TC's versus a stock 5.7 GTO would be a good race but I'd still favor the GTO

LS1 GTO's run High 13's
LS2 GTO's run Low 13's
Big difference
Yes, LS1 GTO's have gone low 13's to at 106ish...
Mercury, they don't run the same times. The LS2 is about .3 tenths+ faster and can trap a couple more MPH on the big end. When they put down around 30-40hp more to the ground your going to get faster times in the same car. It takes some bolt ons to put a LS1 equal to a LS2.

Im new here and have only had my Cobalt SS T/C for 4 months. I had a 04 5.7 Gto for 2 years. With an intake, hi-flow cats, loud mouth 1 catback, zo6 trans, ripshifter (race), and drag bags for that all important traction factor, plus a very aggresive dyno tune.My Gto would lose traction at 105 mph on the 3rd to 4th upshift. That made 345 rwhp and 360 rwtq. 330 rwtq at idle. dont get me wrong, i believe that the cobalt has all the capability in the world.... just not that world. That said, the Cobalt will destroy it in the curves or damp weather. It was scary as hell in the wet. And i do have to agree... They do look like a Cavalier.

That doesn't really mean much. The same chassis and weight with a larger more powerful motor WILL run faster given same day, track, driver etc.
What was the DA when you ran? Were you running stock tires at 32 psi?
The stats listed by the popular car mags are typically off from most of what I've personally seen cars run at the track.
There are so many factors that change the results, it is hard to say "car X, runs xx.xx at x mph" in stock trim.
My car will vary by as much as 4 tenths from track to track and even at the same track with different temps, DA's etc.

4 tenths is a lot. I'd say that would have a lot to do with driving and how the cars running. Dont go to pinks all out they only allow 2 tenths i think and thats from daylight till dark, thats deff different temp and track temps.
Have you ever looked at any DA correction tables?
The difference is nuts. There are quite a few racers on a few different forums that envy the chit out of our mine shaft air on the East coast.
Again, there are many factors. When I go to Englishtown and run I'm often 1-2 tenths slower than my runs with similar DA, at Atco due largely to poor track prep. Add +2-3,000 DA, and you've got an EASY 4 tenths.

Yup, MD has some great tracks as well. A lot of the tracks in this area are close to sea level.
A group of us from the Corvette forum are going to do a smackdown at MIR on Nov. 6th.

If you have that Vette in your sig, there may be a few spots open. Should be a blast!
My screen name is the same there as well.
