88 TurboCoupe
dual flows dumped, Ranger Roller Cam conversion (since it rounded all the lobes on the original flat tappet cam, lol) kaboosa controller... all i know is it sounds like its spooling 3984572903857 pounds of boost and goes no where lol
nope but all of my friends make fun of these sections saying how "i bet theres a maxima forum where a guy is saying he just beat this badass GTO in the kills section" and if you've ever been on Thirdgen.org you'd see why we make fun of them...
said GTO still holds M6 bolton record at 12.19@110mph

yeah It set the LS1 M6 record in late 2008 IIRC. Russ Ethridge aka GreenbeanZ28, he set the bolt-on LT1 record years back and won the GMHTP Bolt-on LT1 shootout. Last november i went with him and our friend diggler to darlington where they set the stock shortblock LT1 record... 9.44@138 on nitrous in a 88 GTA lol
Those can be strong runners. The ranger rollercam conversion really isnt worth much though.
Now if hed do a bobs intake and bobs exhaust manifold with a boport stage 3 solid lifter head an hx35 turbo with a boport 2.5 cam hed be well on his way to 300+whp.
Ive often thought about getting this retired scca svo sitting down the road from my apartment and doing that exact build on it. The 2.3 on an unported head can spool that turbo to around 38lbs by 3200rpms.
But with that said the auto turbocoupes were only 150hp and 190hp for a 5spd depending on year. The last 2 years of them did 190hp but did it on a tiny IHI turbo which was smaller than the earlier T3 60 trim. Anything above 19lbs on the ihi and your just heating the air not making anymore power. The t3 is good to low 20s.

3870 With Driver IIRC... he had back seat, pass seat, tank brace, tow brace, skid plate, wing and i think something else off the car... nothing really special done to the suspension... Pedders Big Bore shocks in back with 5/16" lift drag springs and i think it had all of the poly stuff by then.
here are some photos that i took of the car in march of last year...
