I've had a ticket for 105 in a 55 workzone when I had my neon, which oddly is why I DID NOT go to jail. Apparently, NC has this quirk in the traffic law where a workzone is the overriding violation AS LONG as you don't try anything like evasion or anything like that. Cost me my DL for a year though. That was with driving class, a lawyer, and no prior offenses. DMV got wind of how fast I went, and it was a MANDATORY year suspension.

As long as you learn from it and no one was hurt, ok. Better to have something like this happen, and no injuries or anything.

i dont care for all the gay ass comments. I wanted to know if anyone can give my a little help. I wasn't asking for all critism. I know what i did was wrong but who are you guy to judge. I didnt buy my car to drive it like a little bitch!!!!!
No one said you should drive like a "bitch" but don't get pissed off at the cops or the judge when you do get a punishment handed to you. That's all I'm saying.

I wasn't trying to put you down or anything but seriously, this should be a wake up call because if you do lose your license, you're going to have to go through another challenge of getting it back. The comment of driving like a bitch is not showing that you have learned from your lesson.

And no offense but by a username of "Illegal Streetracing" it's almost like you had it coming to you.

If you want advice, seek a good lawyer to lesson the punishment that they are going to give to you.

i don't give a rat's ass what you think. he had no reason to be driving like that. o0o 40 minutes late, whoop deeeee doo. just because i don't sit around typing all day, i'm supposed to feel bad? please. fight the ticket if you must, i'm sure there's a lot of people who would be on your side. get yourself a good lawyer and you should be good to go. check with a few shady ones..you know, the 'ambulance chasers'. they seem to know the in and outs quite well. cup of dimes...oh that was brilliant. let me revel at your immense wit. i don't get how you could defend someone and try to help someone who was clearly in the wrong (he knows he's made a mistake, no sense in trying to get out of it. pay your due and learn your lesson is all i'm saying). if there were more cops like me and not lazy pukes who sit at 711 all night reading comic books, there'd be more freakin roadblocks on the road pulling over such drivers. i've been almost t-boned twice this week by people either on the cell phone or plowing through a red light because 30 seconds of their time was just too much to wait. **steps off soapbox** flame away, because i honestly don't care to hear your opinion.

Lawyer All the way man i swear up and down on mine. 4 tickets in the past 3 years all taken care of no points. never quite that fast though and none in my SSC but. Lawyers know what they are doing and how hard they can push. Expect to pay $ for this a lot of cities and counties would prefer to get more $$$$ than to give points it Helps pay the bills!

Ohh and 5 mph over speed limit thats freaking crazy talk, His Speed was a little over the top but come on dude thats just not gonna happen even by god himself! my dads slow as **** and he still drives 5- 10 over and he's never had a ticket in 35 years of driving!

i go 10 over almost all the time with a radar detector and they don't pick you up till you get over 10!

hehe yeah--i'm probably one of the rare few. i set my cruise at or just over the speed limit, to account for downward inclines and such--sure, everyone and their brother pass me, but i'm 28 years old and have never had a ticket; probably never will. The day my lil brother got his license though, he was doing 70 in a 25mph school zone, the cop let him go but i chewed his ass. partly because it was my car, partly because there were kids waiting at the crosswalk. i didn't have to make the mistake to learn the lesson. If i were the originator of this post, i would definitely lawyer up if you would like to get out of the ticket. Don't feel too bad though, my friend was traveling in his silver SS/SC through CO, doing 2-3mph over...an SUV blasted past him but the police decided to pull him over because he had a wing. he flew back to CO to fight it. he had his radar detector on so he knew the cop didn't have radar proof. dunno how he did though.. that cop was just an ass going for the SS vs. the SUV doing at least 10mph+ over.

he was ur gf's dad and he still wrote you?

if im about to write a ticket to someone, and then i realize its a friend or a relatives gf/bf, husband or daughter, i just say have a nice day. the officer has the right to not right anyone a ticket based on their own discretion. i just cant believe he actually wrote you up for anything...even if it was only a seat belt ticket or something

Yeah, it sucks bad!!!!! I got a 146 in a 55 in my 93 Eclipse... Yeah, I got thrown in jail for 2 days, lost my license for 1 year, but got it back in 6 had to get SR22 insurance because no one would insure me, so good luck with that! My liability only insurance on a 93 Eclipse on SR22 was right at 250-300.00 a month!!!! Yeah, if you can get it dropped down a class from Wreckless Driving will save you a little bit! GOOD LUCK!

A few years back (like 30) I got clocked doing 162 in a 70. It was at 3am with no one else on the road (except for the cop) on a brand new section of interstate. The cop had mercy on me, once he calmed down. He only wrote me for doing 90, so no reckless driving, and I got to drive my car away.

I was extreemly polite and honest, and needless to say, grateful. I almost pissed myself at the thought of going to jail and losing my goat. I was very young and I'm sure I was visibly shaken. Seeing this, (and the fact that I had a clean driving record) the cop had pity. I never pulled a stunt like that again. I'm sure you learned your lesson like I did, so I hope you get off easy. Not all Cops are dicks - some are compassionate folks.

BTW, I didn't know he was behind me and he certainly couldn't catch me. He just set up a roadblock in front of me, so when I exited the interstate they were waiting, guns drawn.

You can't out run the radio.

Yeah, I was gonna say... on that car before that little incident was 85.00 a month for liability only! If your payin' that much you are gettin' bent over by your insurance agent, I am paying 98.50 a month for full coverage on my SS/SC!!!!

its really not that unbelievable, check out more of his posts. my .02 cents, if you had a valid reason to be doing it then i hope all goes well, but if you were doing it out of enjoyment then you got what you deserved. hopefully you will learn your lesson and become a better driver.

sad that people actually condone getting something this stupid and reckless, thrown out through some stupid loophole in the law.

Its obvious you havent learned a thing from this, because all your concentrating on is any hole in the fence you can sneak through to get away with it.

in the state of CT if anything is wrong on the ticket they HAVE to drop it. I knew a girl and they put the wrong car color down and they dropped it no problem. You just have to go to court though.
