'99 Turbo Eclipse

So the talk of the town is there's a guy with a '99 Eclipse turboed. I've yet to talk to the guy but I have passed by it 2 times and it looks well built atleast from the outside. Little too aggressive bodykit for my taste but to each his own. Now if I run into this guy and we run, what should I expect? All I know is it's turboed @ 7 PSI.

My friend has a 99 TSI, running with a bigger Turbo and like 14 PSI. He does like 12.6 in the 1/4 Mile.
He runs with no Bodykit as that interfere's with his racing lol.

I'm guessing his car is more show and no go, you should blow him out of the water.

Good to hear. It's funny because most of the kids around here with the "popular rides" are stuck up high school kids thinking they are unbeatable. I'm not well known because well I don't start **** but if people run me I ain't afraid to back down.

Gs-t And The Gsx Are Slow Stock Low 15 Sec (high 14 Sec With Good Driver)1/4 But When Modified Lightly They Can Run. A Couple Of Weeks Ago My Friend Ran His Gsx With 2.5in Full Exhaust And Intake And Ran A 13.9

Well if hes only runnin 7 psi hes a turboed GS, with a 420A motor, cuz ne more than thats Boom... cuz all the factory turbos are about 11psi stock. But a turbo GS is faster than a stock GST. bigger turbo, comp ratio is diff. Heres the specs on the Hahn turbo kit for the NA eclipses. not sayin thats what he has.

FEATURE
STAGE II

Boost pressure
8 PSI

Internal engine modifications
not required

Power Output@ crankshaft
250 to 275 HP

1/4 mile performance (on street tires, not slicks)
13.7 seconds @103 MPH (-2.3 seconds vs. GS-T!)

Turbocharger
Mitsubishi/HAHN Super 16G TDO5H-16G10CM2

Intercooler
Bar and plate core, same as used in our popular factory turbo intercooler upgrade

Exhaust manifold
Cast Steel
(upgraded from earlier tubular design)

Downpipe
Ceramic coated, mandrel bent 2 1/4"

Air Piping: Mandrel bent, TIG welded, powder coated gloss black standard
2" compressor outlet, 2 1/4" intercooler outlet

Compressor bypass / blowoff: aftermarket valves easily retrofitted if desired
Standard, OE 3000GT

Fuel System: varies with model year
Complete system includes: Fuel pump, regulator, hoses, fittings, lines, electronic mods

Cold Air Intake
Foam Element w/ mandrel bent piping

Other modifications required
none, aftermarket exhaust system highly recommended

Yeah, DSM's with the proper attention can be very quick, very fast, and very easily underestimated.

A stock DSM is not impressive in the least. They are heavy cars and underpowered from the factory. The NT cars are a joke and I know I'll catch **** for that but they lack the only 2 things that make the cars worth owning, AWD and the 4g63. If I were going to build a FWD car that wasn't factory turbocharged it would be a Honda. Less weight and parts are a lot cheaper.
