A acura ilx tried racing me

So I'm driving down rt 30 in pa and this acura ilx(first time I've ever seen one) down shifts next to me. I look over at my girlfriend like is this dude really trying to race me she says yeah. At this point I'm doing 60 so I downshift to 4th and go. I beat him by a car and then he tries to come back next to me again but of course the gf says no and complains about the traffic so I had to wave it off. From what I read the one model of the ilx has the same motor as the civic si

I have a 2.8 with 60lb injectors and all cooling mods except dual pass just sitting ready to put on but the way my money situation is working I won't have the funds to fix something if it brakes. I'm hearing a slight wine under 30 mph with light throttle pressure but then when I push in the clutch it goes away. So I'm guessing my clutch is getting weak. It's not real noticeable but with me I hear and can feel almost anything when driving

How do you like that setup? And is that what it is? I just figured it was my clutch or maybe the throw out bearing and it's not serious yet but it can only get worse

i love it, the tune isnt super aggressive to keep it sort of safe haha

i just had my clutch done and it was having some lose of pressure or going stiff problems when i would shift at higher rpms.

it would drive fine under normal conditions but if i wanted to show off the whine in 1st gear or spirited driving it would act up. Would need to pump it to get pressure back, it was very annoying

it didnt do it if i didnt shift haha they didnt really say why it was doing just that it was clutch related. once i break in the clutch ill know if its enjoyable to drive again

Yeah let me know. From what I see it seems like some good numbers for a dd and still get upper 20s mpg.

smh my friend bought a 2014 si, same car as the ilx without leather, and its disappointing. The Si used to be a special car and competitive, now it's just a normal civic with 50 more hp and red seats.

Not a fan of the new si looks wise....all black is probably the only way it looks decent In that body style. i don't know anything about it performance wise. So it's not as good as the 08's? I that body style the most

New si's have the 2.4 I believe. 200hp/170ftlbs I think. slightly better than the older ones, but still horrible for a 30k "sports car"

I took one for a test drive with a salesman and he lied right to my face saying g has around 215 ftlbstq when I asked. I laughed

If you go to the dealership that's what they call it, I laughed at that as well. My buddy was denied a test drive because he is under 20 because they needed to get "special authority to drive a high performance vehicle" lololol

The 2.4Ls in those are pretty stout as far as reliability (resale value for vehicles with this engine are good). Plenty of folks boosting them upwards of 400+ on stock internals with no major issues. The stock power levels are horrendous though, drive a new SI and experience your "WTF Moment"!
