He is probably referring to high speed wobble of the bars, something a good steering stablizer will take care of.

BTW: i ride an 07 Kawasaki ZX-6R

There is a big difference in power that the newer fuel injected bikes have compared to that Katana that is Carbuerated(SP?)

I'm not calling bullshit...I'm just saying that I would have to see it to believe it...because you would have to strap and lower it to get those times.

And that is not 'bone' stock.

Ahhh bike talk...makes me happy

I didn't say my bike was bone stock!! I said that the motor was bone stock!! There's a difference!! That's my weekend fun, drag racing the bike!!

An 01 may be F/I ...the Gixxers were...and I highly doubt the story he told was true...cuz even if the bike 'only' had 80hp it would walk a cobalt to its top speed.

KATANAS are a entry level sport bike the largest KATANA 1XXX isn't even as fast as the GSX-R600.

As for 600cc foodchain:

1- Honda CBR 600RR
2- Suzuki GSX-R600
3- Yamaha R6
4- Kawasaki Ninja

10- Suzuki KATANA

The most fun things to kill are STi's and Evos.
Sportsbike in the 600 class taste like chicken.

1- Honda CBR 600RR
2- Suzuki GSX-R600
3- Yamaha R6
4- Kawasaki Ninja
I think you need to reread your issues of cycleworld. Are you sure those aren't just in the order you remembered who makes 600's?

The GSX-R was rated the worst 600 (almost of all time)...the R6 is unstable...the 600rr was the best track bike and the zx6r was the fastest straightline.

I wouldn't call a Katana a sport bike. More of a sport cruiser. I got an old 750 that I used to use to drive to college. Didn't get it for speed thought, just good gas mileage, comfy seat, and cheap.

It's not the carb that makes the Katana a push over... it's the fact that it's a lower compression, air-cooled, daily rider.
My R1 is carb'd and even I can pull really low 10's with it.

But being on the topic of cars vs bikes.... I've never lost to a street legal car..... a Cobalt wouldn't even stand a chance against a V-Rod, let alone a sportbike...

I beat this one guy who was being a jerk on his Harley. For the most part those guys are really cool. Have some friends that are "Biker Guys" We got a red light and he turned into the turning lane. Next thing you know hes going straight and cutting me off. I almost hit the dumbfuck. I was pissed. It got him no where because there was a slow car we both got behind. He was now in front of me and swerving all over the road and goes to pass the car in front of him. I had a clear veiw so I went with him. We both pass the car, and I'm ******* flying. He like slows down real slow once we get over and when I go to pass him he gives it full throttle. I down shift and leave him in my dust lol.

Hmm... never heard of an unstable R6 before... espcially not the new generation...
Yes... the old Gixxer Sixxer was a bit under powered in the old chassis, but this new one is blisteringly crazy. Amazing stunter too.
As an FYI to those who don't know, the Kawi was always the fastest due to it's 37 cc advantage on the other bikes (Most ZX6R's are a 636cc , all others are 599cc).
As of the '07 model year, there isn't really any company who is left behind. They all have nimble, high reving, big power 600's.

get the front wheel off the ground...the bike becomes a sledge hammer. You will understand immediately that the bike is not stable. The R1's are nice but the R6's have all suffered from this problem.

The new zx 6r's are 600cc's again, not 636cc.

I have a ZX9-R. Wouldnt even waste the gas in the balt to race it.

I raced a busa at the track last weekend. It was pretty close. He only beat me by 4 seconds in the quarter.

Yeah.. all the new bike are 599cc again.... too bad, that 636 was a beast...
As far as the R6... I guess its all preference.... I prefer either R6's or F4i's for stunting... they just seem to suit me well... they feel very stable to me.
I've found that my R1 is the hammer in the air.... up-down-up-down.... oh well... it's my straight line toy...

YUP! In my 04 Cavi, wasted him too! It was a back windy ass road with bumps and nasty turns. My car stayed glued to the road like a go-cart and he couldn't keep up thru the turns. He almost went down twice and gave up trying. I waited for him to catch up at a stop sign and he couldn't belive my car stuck the way it did. I can't remember what kind of bike he had but it was no turd!

What in the hell are you talking about, when is the last time you read a review of 600cc bikes?

The new CBR 600RR was rated the fastest, the GSX-R was within a tenth in the 1/4 and the R6 was just under the GSX-R the new Ninja just plain blows without the extra displacement.

I had a Honda CBR F3 and considered myself a diehard Honda guy, but what do you see in my sig? I didn't buy it because it was the worst. The 2007 GSX-R is a carry over but besides that tenth in the 1/4 it handles awesome. I rode all the major 600cc bikes and bought the Suzuki.

The overall performance and look sold me on mine. Not to mention the single center mounted headlight.

I'll post some pics tommorow.
