Talking Auto Cross me 08 ss/tc vs. 08 wrx not sti vs 06 mazda 6

So me and a few friends went to a road thats real curvy and wraps around its a loop we went to start off I was in the middle wrx in front me then the mazda we all know this road about half way through their was a right hand turn kinda sharp but not bad the wrx drifted to the outside of the turn I no lift shifted to 3rd exiting the corner and left him in the dust he must have got scared we did this several times me leading the rest of the time because I was clearly faster finally the guy in the wrx said he was ready to push it to the limits so I followed him and was on his rear bumper the entire 13.7 miles speeds ranging from 30 and 40 in some turns and straights we were at 135-145 I coulda kissed his rear bumper with my front the whole way some spots I had to let off which I dont understand because he has all wheel drive anyways we decided that I was the winner of the autocross that night after the guy in the mazda was trying to push it and hang with us lost control and totaled his car in the woods the wrx and I were racing light to light a few times he got me off the dig everytime but when I no lift shifted to 2nd about 3/4 of the way through 2nd I had a half a car on him and it stayed that way through the end of 3rd so I thought both were good kills let me get some input

Wow. Don't even associate the word autocross with that bullshit.

To everyone else - please don't think that's what true "autocross" is. I think most people know better, but I want to clear that up.

wasn't expecting that story at all. I'd be taking it to the track if I were you. Much more controlled and your buddy wouldn't have totaled his car.

and can you please stop saying "no lift shifted"...i can see this becoming the new gay phrase for the noob ss/tc owners.

on another note. someone totals their car and you still don't realize how stupid your little autocross event was??

7 posts...that says a lot...

I know a guy that organizes these "fun runs" basically what they are is a bunch of people getting together every few months with their cars and following eachother in a pre-determined route of an approximately 100mile run with nice twisties and long stetches that takes about half a day. They all stop either at a restaurant along the way or pack lunches or what not. They sound pretty fun and he always gets on me because he wants to challenge my Cobalt SS and he drives a Mazdaspeed 6. Other kinds of guys that usually go, one has a Lotus Elise, and some other people go with their WRX's and STI's.

Well a good friend of mine who had a really good job interning with a car magazine, had a long term loaner 2008 Impreza STI. well he decided to take it out on one of these "fun runs", well he took a corner too fast spun out and ended up ripping off the rear bumper... Yeah... he took the car back and walked out not having his job anymore....

Don't think I'll ever be going on any of these "fun runss", I'll stick with real autocross and track days....

Concurred. You're a moron for doing that and should lose your license, along with both your idiot friends. I would have preferred if you DID clip his back bumper at 130 and spun you both out. Only down side is a perfectly good TC being wasted.

I run autocross on a CONTROLLED field, in a SAFE manner. Keep it off the streets, you tool.

10 bucks says the guy who posted the thread is lying about the whole thing.

says he was going 135-145 through turns? bs i hit a corner at 85 and i got adjustable coilovers 225 pirellis and some more **** and i did a 360 cuz i hit it to fast.

So i call your lies. and if your friend actually totaled his car you would have just talked about that and after that happened even if it wasnt your friend you would have stopped to see what happened.

YOur a noob and you lie.

Actually if this really happened, you would get the F out of there, and never repeat a word of it ever again, because when someone totals a car racing, all people involved in the race usually go to jail.

So either he's full of it, or even dumber then we thought by posting up a confession of his boneheaded actions.

He actually states that he was doing between 30 and 40 in between turns, which is believable because I've taken onramps @50mph...

The 135-140 he says were in the straights...

who knows?

Be careful man. Sounds like the guy in the Mazdaspeed was driving outside his ability. Fun runs in the twisties are cool, but it should NEVER become a race. Getting competitive in curves is just too dangerous outside of a road course.

Dumb, dumb, dumb. You could've killed innocent people.

You'll be 6 o'clock news material pretty soon... if there is any truth to your story, that is.

And dude, try to use these a bit : . ,
