Going do 31 on my way to the mall when an eclipse GT rolls up next to me with 2 kids in it. The driver look like he was 12 but whatever. There was a car in front of both of us at the light so we didnt take off hard but the car in front of us went faster so we got in front of the crownd but the eclipse was stuck behide some cars. Finally it get free and trys doing a flyby but i didnt let it happen. Dropped into 2nd and haulled on them. Slowed down again and they flew up right next to me and tryed racing from like a 50mph roll. Killed them again. So then they followed me to the mall and got out and wanted to know what i had under the hood. So i popped the hood and let them look at the supercharger. We talked for a minute, they were rollin around in mommys cars for the day. They told me that when they were next to me they laughed and said they could take me. Well i shut them up.

All eclipse's are slow I havent raced one yet with my 2.2 but I think it will hang.

sounds like what happened to me with a turbo cavy... couldnt have been pushin much boost but he tried to pull on me but i wasnt gonna let it happen. People need to just give up the ricer fly by.. Very nice kill tho

not puttin you down bro, good kill, but why are you racing someone with their kids in their car? you realize that if something happened and they all died you could be charged with murder of all three of them?

yeah, ive street raced, but be smart about it, dont do it when there are kids in the car, if the other driver wont take the responsibility for his own kids dont be the one who gets canned for it.

No sorry let me specify the kid driving the car look 12 to me. and the other kid was his friend. There werent young kids in either car. Im 20 and my friend that was in my car is 19, the kids in the eclipse were probly 16 or so

ehhh, not that close actually. ive beaten several v6's by multiple car lenghts.

the eclipses are nice cars, not as fast as one would think with that mivec pushin 263 HP, it weighs a decent amount on top of that, good car none the less

I had that happen to me with an Integra the other day... I was going 35 with traffic clear for a mile ahead of me... and I could see an integra in my rear view darting around. When they finally got clear in the lane next to me (about 5 cars back) I saw and heard them punch it. I dropped it in second and let the clutch out... when they were at about a car length behind me I mashed... perfect timing too. We were even for about half a second and their smile left their faces real fast as my g/f waved and we took off.

they can come in auto. they are just about as fast as an ss/sc in the straights stock.

I'm a Mitsu Service manager who own a Talon TSI AWD and a Saturn Ion RL. I drive Eclipses everyday. The new GT with 6 speed is very comparable in straight line performance to a stock Cobalt SS/SC, but that's the best it can do, really. Other than expensive mods, the V6 isn't tuner friendly and the car is a boat at 3600 pounds. It's a very safe, cool looking car that gets decent mileage, but it's not the tuner the first or second gen cars are. On a road course, the LSJ equipped vehicles will hand it its ass.

No offense dude but I know a whole bunch of DSM guys running mid to low 5's in teh 18th and mid 9's in the 1/4. There isnt a street legal Cobalt that I know of running those numbers to speak of. So dont go off spewing horseshit. I mean I love my cobalt but a mechanic who knows what their doing with a DSM will bitch slap a cobalt guy hands down every time for alot less money. Those 2.3 Stroker motors Mitsu made are ****** beasts capable of handling over 500hp on mostly stock internals.

I still stand with my statement that all eclipse's are slow beacuse its a fact so what my 2.2 isnt fast I didnt buy it to go fast if I wana go fast Ill pull the 99 camaro out of the garage

+10000000000000000000000000000000000000 dsm's can be insanely powerful. only real reason to not buy one=crank walk. make 250hp or 500, you are still very likely to get crank walk with those motors.
