Bad Night with an SRT4

Down $100 and feel like an *******.

From a dig...

I launched with too high RPM and went NO WHERE! -$50

tried it from a roll for another $50

35 roll to 120... pulled me 1.5 cars -$50

I don't know what all this SRT4 had in it... did notice side exit exhaust and I think it may have had 19psi... not sure... couldnt see the digital pod too clear with his tint.

Lesson learned... figure out if its worth running for money before you run for money.

Also take into consideration I was DEAD on E so I was pretty much out of gas... and I have a GOD-AWEFUL exhaust leak because my header keeps incinerating gaskets.

================================================== =======
My mods are... Intense Stage V (2.5inch pulley, 60lbs injectors, intense pcm, ported blower, stage II belt) Intense Suspension Kit (control arm bushings, mounts)

stock air box un-modded (putting the injen back on soon and retuning)

TSD Custom Header, dpipe with high flow cat, 2.5 magnaflow catback

B&M Shifter

G85 Package

and some other misc **** I don't feel like typing right now
================================================== ========

I really hope they didn't video it. Really pissed about not launching tonight when I have ran better from a dig before than actually losing the money.

Feeling kinda shitty about it cos I havn't had anything burn my ass since I did the intense kit but never got a chance to run a SRT4 before. So I figured what the hell.

ON A GOOD NOTE... the kid that had a Lotus that I ran before and dusted his ass... well, he was there tonight... turns out he ran out and bought a new Lotus that had a supercharger in it... so I figure losing $100 is better then going out and buying a whole new car cos a 06 Cobalt SS/SC smoked your Lotus... atleast his friend will be able to afford more gas for the next two weeks.

And not to sound bitter... but MOMMY & DADDY didn't pay for any of my ****... I got a better job... make my own money... and since I work in a strip club... I know I got more ho's

Good looking on my math... but if you'll pay attention to detail

================================================
tried it from a roll for another $50

35 roll to 120... pulled me 1.5 cars -$50
================================================

I said tried it from a roll for another $50.... do you see a minus sign there? NOPE!

The line below says 35 to 120... pulled me 1.5 cars (heres the important part) INSERT MINUS HERE ==> -$50

Thanks for trying to point out I can't add... but you seem to have an inability to pay attention to detail... I hope you don't do that when you wax your car.

Yeh I lost to a faster car... but at the end of the day... its still a ugly ass Neon.

As far as my actual numbers... they seem to vary depending on the dyno.

On a Dyno Dynamics at Ptuning... I put down 229whp

On a Dyno Jet I put down 267.93whp

The guys at Ptuning said the simulations that they run on the Dyno Dynamics are a more "realistic" street number as they simulate under road conditions.

I also had that exhaust leak from my header where it connects to my Dpipe when I ran the car on the dyno. So I figure I am losing some power and that would **** up my numbers a little bit... I just don't know how much until I get the leak fixed... but trust me guys its a BAD leak.

Anyway... back to the drawing board.

Atleast now I know I need to get a stronger clutch (Chris @ Street Dreams was once again correct) and I am really considering doing a rebuilding the bottom end and doing a Twin Charge system.

So far to date this car has treated me well.... more kills then losses

KILLS

Lotus Elise
Stock 06 Mustang
Modded 06 360z (got this one on tape)
two modded Acura RSX-S types
2001 Celica GTS
modded 2001 Mustang
Mitsubishi 3000GT with some exhaust work (non VR4 model)
Focus Hatchback SVT
2007 Stage II Cobalt SS/SC (another member of CobaltSS.NET)
countless riced out Civics
06 Golf GTI turbo

If I think of anymore I'll edit this later... guess ya can't tell what I do with my Cobalt

LOSSES

AVS Tuned EVO MR 9
Same 350z as above (before I did my Intense kit)
Toyota Supra (I watched this guy put down 675whp on a DynoJET, ran for fun)
03 Cobra Mustang
SRT-4 (with I assume 19psi and a but load of mods)

not a bad ratio I guess... but remember... IF YOUR NOT FIRST... YER LAST!

It was how he worded it, that's all.

I wasn't trying to flame or anything.

A lot of people have been showing very lean conditions with them.

intesne tunes run to lean so if you have a hptune than you can fix that and he needs an exhaust to get the air out faster and he probably will gain like a 10-15whp increase with a full exhaust.

edit nevermind i see that you have a full exhaust

I don't know why you have to call SRT-4s ugly because he took 100 bucks from you because you can't drive. Why can't you just accept it was a better car/driver and go practice you launches a lil more before you loose anymore cash. With thoes numbers I wouldn't pick on too many SRTs for cash it doesn't take very much cash to be well over 270 hp and over 300 tq. Don't take this as I am another SRT owning tool. Think of me as a financial advisor.

well I wouldn't say they're ugly...lol but people do refer to them as if they aren't neons...lol its like SRT-4 is another car thats like saying the evo isn't a lancer
but the cobalt doesn't work like that. cobalt is cobalt thats it..no one refers to an ss/sc like its not a balt anyone else ever notice that or is it just me

calm down bro...he's just saying know what you're getting into before you do it thats all. The fact is it takes less to boost their power and more to boost ours, as it is with most turbos. Reality is if we switched to a turbo system then I'm sure its a better match.
Lets not start bashing eachother it isn't that serious

The reason I am on a cobalt forum is because I like cobalts and I almost bought one but a used SRT was cheeper than a new Cobalt SS/SC. There are some local SS/SC owners on this sight that I talk to as well. Drama???? Almost every post is saying the same sort of things. Why single out the SRT owner? Don't tell me I am not welcome here just because I don't drive a cobalt. I don't know about this forum but about half of srtforums is non owner members.
