Beat my first vette today! ;)
It took my dad's basically stock C6 Ls2 to above 110 mph before he could start pulling on my car with a superchips tune and catless DP ......from a 40 . Dig was a different story . This was on the way to the race track where he ran a 12.6 and I a 13.3..... His 1.9 to my 2.1 60" foot's
ya driving altitude shouldnt be an issue in texas haha. but none the less im just proud my little 20k car with $800 in mods can take down a vette. but like i said guy was a good sport he was just like no way i lost to a cobalt haha. his vette did sound nice tho
Realize that alot of people don't have access to a track and its really their only option to drive their car the way its meant to be driven. So quit trying to act like your the worlds most law obiding citizen and accept the fact that everyone goofs off on the road when no one else is around.
So quit your bellyaching!
/Rant.
Anyway good kill OP!
ha ya thanks godly. like i said though it wasnt anywhere with traffic just a couple cars behind us and no one in front for a good 5 miles. lol its a dead road in the middle of no where.
Its fun to break the rules every now and then
thanks ryridesmotox ya he was pretty shocked but real cool guy. what really suprised me is how he didnt want to launch from the dig. i thought that was his main advantage. wasnt a brand new car or anything and he drove just fine so im guessing he just didnt want to ruin the tires? lol 2-3 gear in cobalts are the beast gears i didnt really pull as hard from 4th but still pulled none the less
[QUOTE=Godly;5460568]I hate people on forums like you. You can set there and act like you've never street raced in your life but I guarantee you have.

Oh I did not know cars were meant to street race, and I did try it a few times up until I seen how stupid it was

Yea but I wasn't about to lose to a mustang even if it was a supercharged roush. It was basically a draw, I only had him at my rear bumper. Mine was at 11pm on a 4 lane freeway so we had lots of room. The 7k redline on mine allows for a long ass 3rd gear pull.
I'm not saying it didnt happen or cant happen. But i want more info on this. Mods on the cobalt and vette and so on. Just seems abit far fetched from a roll race...like come on 2 1/2 cars? ~300hp cobalt vs 450hp vette...iiunno. Like i said, not saying it never happend cuz i was able to beat a Z06 at the drag strip with my truck.

"I think street racing is fail so I'm gonna go into the War Stories where ppl only street race and tell them they are idiots."
That's real intelligent...
i'm going to say it was NOT a ls3... i'm sorry, stock Ls3s have gone in the 11s... a guy I know went 11.89 in a 6-speed automatic with a K&N drop in only, NO TUNE... he went 11.60s tune only
it'd have to be the shittiest driven LS3 vette on the road... in which case, you beat the driver, not the car...

no the 1st post says '09. they went LS3 in 2008
Ls3 Vettes have dynoed over 380whp STOCK.. that is 50whp over the BEST tuned LNF... not to mention they are RWD and don't have much weight on us... from a roll, it might be close as long as you keep it under 110mph, from a dig... I don't see us winning against an apt driver, sorry
and that is if you keep them stock, with headers, a K&N drop in, and a tune, hello 420whp
some C5 Zo6s ran 11s stock, they were FEW and far between, one of those freak times, like running 12s in a stock LS1 f-body......... Ls3s COMMONLY run 11s stock, sure you can find some mid-12s, and its going to say 6-speed manual in the description, blame the driver not the car...
those 6-speed automatics are the ones to look out for, those bitches are killer off the damn line... and the 6-speed was the best thing to ever happen to an automatic, i still wouldn't want one because I love the feel of driving a manual
but a 6-speed auto LS3 Vette on some 3.42 gears, with a stall and on some ET streets, holy **** you're not out launching that, lol... not even in your Evo

none the less, the vette still has more hp and more torque. Roll racing doesnt prove ****, just proves which car has more power, in this gas, the vette. Which is why its questionable if the OP actually won and if he did, was it the outrageous "2 1/2 car lengths". I know there is a weight difference but only like 250-300lbs, not going to make that much of a difference.
they aren't even correct in their horsepower assumption the corvette is rated at 435, they dyno 380-390whp....... that is 30-40 REAL horsepower more than the Cobalt, not BHP...
sure the Cobalt is lighter, its also fwd... so any weight advantage it has, is lost off the line in all of its 2.0+ second 60' glory
I love my car for what it is, but lets be realistic...

If you want to make a nice post, take a video of you and a vette racing at a drag strip.
I agree. See this is why this section of the forums is pointless. Its all about these kids that go out, illegal street racing (which is fail right there) And its mostly roll racing which is another fail. And then dont post proof, which is another fail.

You do realize that more people are injured / killed with a motorist eatting or drinking while driving than illegal street racing per year. Not saying it is right just saying being ohollier than thou over this is stupid. Unless you always keep your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road at all times you percentage wise have a higher chance of injury/ fatality by changing a radio station ( non wheel control) talking on the phone or even drinking a coke then street racing just sayin.
