Blew my chance to bag a Hemi 'cuda

So, there I was in Portugal.

I was driving along the highway and I saw this

fuuuhuhuuuhuhuuuc....kiiiing PERFECT!!!!!!! HEMI CUDA rolling down the highway.

I have pretty much only seen these things being trailered on and off of trucks at car shows, and maybe once in a while at a street car show at a burger joint (when I'm in the states)

I neheheheeeever see these things on the highway.

I decide to hang over next to him just to get a closer look and listen to that freaking gorgeous sound coming from that hemi. Then I hear something peculiar,..

He drops a gear...

then, in my mind:
!!!!!!!!!!Ohshitohshitohshitthisfuckingcudawantsto racemefuckfuckfuckohmygoddamnfuckinggoodness!!!!!! !!!!

I drop it into second and he rrrrips off a microsecond before I do, but I'm keeping up! I'm holding my own against this monster of a dream car, and, not only that, as I yank it into third, I start gaining ground!!! In my mind:

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Oh my ******* god! i'm about to beat a MOTHERFUCKING CUDA are you serious? I can't even hear my own engine over the sound of that mighty beast!

Then I make a realization....

I can't hear my own car.

Where are my rpms?

I look down at my tach exactly the moment I hit the rev limiter. I look up as I'm shifting into forth and watch him lurch ahead by about half a car. As I progress through 4th, I catch back up to about a fender behind him, but at that time, he decided to shut down and accept his win.

in my head:

****! **** **** **** **** FUCKFUCKFUCKFUYCKFU8CKFUCKFGUFCJMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!IDIOTSTUPIDGODDAMN.........

.....4

....sigh

Well,

It WAS a cuda.

If there was anyone for me to lose that closely

oh well...

I'll just cry myself to sleep for the next month.

Found a pic of OP (assuming people remember those commercials)

Just busting your nuts, I would do horrible things for a late '60s, early '70s Mopar.

You have to remember even hemi cuda's from the 70's were a 13 second car in the 1/4 mile stock.

From a roll, well...even the new hemi's are slugs from a roll.

The cudas are super cool cars, but not that impressive on the track. 14 sec quarter at 102 mph, making what the claim is over 500 hp, and loads of tq. They were impressive in there time, but are a joke in today's world.
