these guys are true haters. i used to have a 94 hatchback civic. i had a swap.. LSmotor, non-vtec, with an integra type-r tranny. (my cobalt would seriously smoke it) so im no honda newbie.. I went over to their forum,(as i am still a member) to get some info on dropping that same motor and trans in a friend car. They saw what i drive in my profile i assume. Here's what they said! :

LOWNOTSLOW: both the Type-S and Civic Si run high 14's without the benefit of a torquey SC. What they do have is better handling, better build quality and better interiors.

LOWNOTSLOW: I think it's slower than it has a right to be given the power it makes. I also think the interiors look and feel cheap and until GM figures out that the interior is where people spend the most time and improve on them, they'll never have a great seller.

There argue ment would be "well we are naturally asprired" as far as im concerned, stock for stock, we will kill them. And the interior isnt that cheap, other wise everyone would bitch about it, and thats what full bumper to bumper warranty is for, things are gonna get fucked up from normal use on any car.

 

Huh considering I took a brand new SI lasy night in my SS/NA 2.4 sedan I'd say they don't know what the **** they're talking about! Typical Honduh boys.

 

Oh and as for handling? Yeah just show them Car & Drivers results from the test they did at VIR where the Civic SI's brakes were cooked to the point where they had to stop driving it after 2 laps and how the Cobalt ran away from the Civic in every part of the race track.

My buddy has a 2001 acura intergra GS-X, with about everymod you can put on one...we raced from 50-100 and I think I got him by about....9 car lengths when I was stock...the best part is...he WALKS new civics all day long

All it is, is you have a bunch of kids who have never been in anything other than a honda making assumptions.

guys, it's like any site... people bought the car because they like it.... they signed onto a forum because they love the car.... there will be people on ANY car site that think their car is the best, and everything else is ****.. this forum is no exception... there's people here that think that their car is better than everything on the road...

most of the people that posted on that link had some common sense, and the one's that don't are idiots... plain and simple...

if you go to ANY car site, people will be like this... ****, go to an Aveo forum and they'll try to convince you why their car is the best out... not knocking the car, but you get my point

i drive a 2.2l ls with a manual trany... moving on... i live in an area domminated by ricers guys with hondas and other imports.. i had a guy who just wouldnt stop talkin **** about my car and how slow it was over myspace and to my face.. so i looked up the specs on his car and informed him that even with a **** load of mods besides a turbo he is still slower.. make a long story short we lined up i beat him 4 out of 4 times. 2 times from the dig " he got slaughterd" and 2 times form a 15 mph roll.. he still talkes **** about my car but now all i have to say is lets take it to the street and he shuts his mouth...


i told him to start out with that a 1.4 sohc is a pos against my 2.2l dohc

sounds like my old roomate he has a Civic.. nothin special... but he has more HP and his is a Manual.

mine is a 22 and its Auto.. but i told him i know a guy with a SS and one with a SS/SC and he just shuts up.. and is like i wanna race you not those cobalts
