Cobalt ss non s/c vs 05 Civic si
My friend drives an 05 civic si and his mods are intake rh and exhaust and he keeps telling me that he will beat me in my ss s/c. I keep telling him that the ss non s/c is a better race for him. Im not sure if I am correct though. How will the civic do against a ss non s/c. and a ss s/c. Any info will help. thanks

same here, i dont think the si can contend with the SS/SC, not with just those mods. i have never raced one though, just going by the specs and what i have heard. the non sc would be a better match up but im sure the si would take it

I think you mean 2006 Civic Si, right?
I have seen a few around and am dying to race them. It might win but it won't by much at all.
Three magazines have reported a 15.1--not much of a race against a S/C SS.
Then they have that gross dash, steering wheel and are about 5K more. (canadian)

A 06 Base Coby could probably beat a O5 Si, my nieghbor owns one and man I could eat him in my 2.4L!! You have to remember that thats a single over head cam motor only putting out 127hp,lol. Even with those simple mods! The only advantage is the lightness of the Civic versus the heftiness of a Coby of any kind! I want to play with a 06 Si myself but theres only one in my town right now!! Remember torque is what moves your car and hell if your torque is good and you know how to use it properly youll have fun!! Go eatem up and shut him up,lol..Or send him my way!! Never mind I'll go bug my neighbor..

Reguardless--a pre 06 Si had two different meanings in the US and Canada.
Si in the US = SiR in Canada (same engine)
EX in the US = Si in Canada (1.7L 02-05 127hp)

Cause an 05 would have to have a ton of mods--nitrous maybe to dream of hanging witha S/C SS.
So...LMDRIVER..did you just mistype or did you really mean an 05??

05 or 06 it does matter. SS/SC eats em both up. Only chance for them is FI. Then Id say its an even match. I know from experience, at the end of 3rd i had 3-4 cars (after I missed 2nd). And thast was an 06 SI.

I am talking about the 05 si. He still says even after reading this that he will beat my ss s/c so needless to say I am going to have to rape him when i get my car.

LOL... Silly silly Civic owner... Youre gonna get owned...lol. I dont own as ss/sc or an 05 si so I can remain impartial on this one, but I tell you, I really look forward to reading about this si getting taught a lesson...
Later all,
