Poor mustangs lol they don't even know they never had a chance. I never race GT's anymore even when I was k04, I always knew the outcome. The 5.0 however, that is a different story. I need to look for a modded one. Cobras and be sneaky too.

Basically my run went like this: (You could say it was a double feature... lol)

Rolled up next to an LS3 Convertible Vette on the Mexican highway. The guy had his wife/gf/sugarmama in the car, and when he saw me come up on his left he hit it, and I stopped his pull and started pulling him. I guess he couldn't believe it, so when I took the exit and made a U-turn to go back the other way he followed. As we're both about to merge back onto the highway, a C6 Z06 goes flying by with the driver waving out his window while he's doing it (I guess he saw us and wanted in on it?). The Z06 gets up above 100 somewhere on the highway and the LS3 and I were playing catch up. I pulled the LS3 again as we're catching up, and the Z06 sees me go flying by (he had slowed back down to normal speed by that time). The LS3 quietly takes the next exit in defeat and then it's the Z06 and me.


So...
50 roll, and it was on me.

I had half a car until the shift to 4th, and then he started his pull. By the shift to fifth he had a bus on me and pulling pretty good. I had to flash my highbeams at him in defeat. lol I caught back up to him and we exchanged a thumbs up. He seemed pretty cool, and that car sounded really good. That top-end on those LS7's is crazy. No idea what he had done to it, if anything, though.

 

LS3 are no joke either, good **** pulling on one! Z06 stock will sound amazing too, hard to tell when they're flooring it if it's stock haha. I need to find one asap. HB has long tube headers, intake, tune. I beleive he's at 500whp.

 

i faired pretty well against a stock ls3 vette while i was stock turbo on 91 octane.

i too really want to run a stock z06 now for a benchmark with this turbo.

 

We should raid a Corvette forum somewhere and set up a stock Z06 run with somebody.

Yeah, I've got the ported head, S1 cams, and E85 going for me (despite being still being stock turbo for the time being), so I suppose it helped a bit in this case still.

 

Next mods for me are valves and cams. After I get this damn axle fixed of course. Z06 is the best benchmark, fast ******* cars.

LOL wow, I need to find a lambo!!! Ahh yes the 1/2 mile airstrip event I'm going to will have some nice set of cars to run. I'll be running mainly in the 400/500 hp run group. I have a couple guys I wanna run in the 6/700 hp run group. Single turbo 335 and built motor SC e92 m3

I went 1-1 against a tuned e92 when I was stock Turbo. Fast indeed. Gave me a better run than the ls3 vette.

 

Well, I believe I'm faster than tuned 1/335's and tuned e92s. The boosted ones I know I don't have a chance with. I signed up a month ago, the only cobalt ss lol. In the 400 hp run group.

Ran it with 2 e92 m3s same tune both catless xpipes with my fbo tuned k04 and we were dead even.

Gonna have good comparo runs though, see what I have to do to get to the next level.. You know?

 

x2. I ended up only putting a car on it by the time the governor kicked in. LOL I had to shift like a madman to keep up with that quick computer shifting that thing's got.

Then after the run, the same E92 ripped an LS3 a new one from a dig. It was quite impressive I have to admit. I had no idea they were so quick out of the hole.

Stuff like this always throws me off. Looking at specs it would seem an ls3 vette would have no issues taking a tuned e92.

Dont have any vids of me racing the e92 but it was very loud and it was dead even with me. basically whoever was on the gas first won the race.

 

Oh I believe you don't get me wrong but for example those e92 m3's typically put down around 360whp and 250ft-lbs in stock form and they weigh about 3500. To me that just doesn't sound that quick at all. I do understand the one you raced was not stock did he ever tell you exactly what was done? But even an ls3 has over 100ft-lbs more torque across the range and typically a little more power plus it's lighter by a couple hundred pounds. It just seems like the ls3 has every advantage.
