Cobalt t/c Vs. Grand sport C6 Vett

Found this dude on the freeway, his friend was pointing out the window at me so i thought id roll by and see what kind of vette it was. At first i thought it was a ZR1 cause of the body styling and the long chrome badge on the side but after i got closer it was a wunnabe lol it was a Grand sport C6. Which is identical to a C6 Z06 but has the wimpy LS3 in it instead. I rolled past him and let him here the BPV go off to kinda get him going. When he started pulling up I told my girlfriend to start the camera which was perfect timing cause he nailed it tryin to blow past me but it didnt work out the way he planned lol.... even with his massive jump lol....

do you have the gms1 sensors to boost 24 psi with hptuners? im only on 20psi right now, it still runs very strong tho since the tuner was spot on.

yea i have the three bar maps. You can pick the maps and pigtails up pretty cheap online if you search. Then your tuner could set you up with a 3bar tune.

Grandsport is a wannabe car? Time to bone up on your vette history chum.

Good kill tho, they run mid/high 12's out of the factory, not exactly "wimpy" IMO, but I you wanna talk down about an LS3 vette while you drive a base model cobalt with a LNF swap good for you I guess.

Pretty sure with the new parameters you don't need 3 bar sensors to run 24psi.

See if I take mt Trailblazer every Mustang, Vette and anything else fast is out. I take My Trans Am the streets are empty. Only thing I have got to race in my Cobalt (stock for now) is a lousy v6 firbird. I am Getting the GMS1 kit installed this week hopefully they can do it while I am working at the ford dealer across the street. Need to find where all these people are when I am out looking for a race.

85 makes the car a whole different kind of monster. Only problem is that stations change their blends of e85 all the time so without something to log and tune, it can throw your fuel trims off bad.

After I get a some miles on my car and the warranty is almost gone I will have to.stop by my friends for a tune and try the e85 or a blend since their are a couple places not far to gas up. Love to see the difference since I know others are doing it with several different motors with good results.

I said it was a "wunnabe" because it has all the looks of the ZR1 and Z06 but not the power. And no my car is not a base model. It was a SS to start with, just S/C only way you can tell it ever was S/C is to run the vin. And its kinda hard to believe these cars run mid 12s if im walkin off on his ass that hard, i mean that was a 55 to like 110 pull when the video stopped lol so yes i can talk down on the LS3 all I want. there isnt a LS3 factory car that can come close to me lol

He was the one who got on it to start with. lol obviously you people are just idiots. This is why i stay out of this section usually. I dont see a reason to post any more.

Yes with the new perameters you can make a 3 bar tune but you will keep maxing the factory one causing Map failure.

Wow, aren't you the cocky one. No Factory LS3 can touch you? I would LOVE to see you beat a well-driven LS3 Vette through the 1/4. I'd also bet that a Grand Sport Vette would hand you your ass on a road course as well.

And you're a moron to race in traffic. At least TRY to make an attempt at doing it safely.

" I would LOVE to see you beat a well-driven LS3 Vette through the 1/4." done it. no problem. Id hope that the Grand sport could beat me on a road coarse! Its a damn 2010 Z06 with 75 less HP! A track car designed for racing around a track just made street legal! Why wouldnt it leave a $20k cobalt..? I think the Z06 is like a 7:49 in nurburging and the Z51 was like 8:00 flat. The stock cobalt was like 8:22.... and that was a stock t/c with almost 200 less Hp haha. id like to see a tuned t/c run through there. bet those times would be alot closer.

Your right they don't run mid 12's, that was my bad. They ACTUALLY run LOW 12's with some reports of people dipping into the 11's with a bone stock car.

Take your car to the track and see what you run....

Sorry chum but LS3 Grandsport > Your car

Buddy probably couldn't drive for ****.

area47 told me the new beta for hptuners isnt that stable and he doesn't use it. i trust his word over any other tuners pretty much since hes right up there at the top.

Your 12.8 doesn't touch a well driven stock Grand Sport through the 1/4, sorry. Try again.

And your "200+hp" won't make up as much time as you think around the Nurburgring. You might, and I REALLY stress MIGHT make up 10 seconds if you're lucky. On street tires a Cobalt making anything over 350whp is going to start hurting itself on a roadcourse because you'll fight for traction out of the corners much more and you won't be able to stay in it as much through the corners.

Oh ya, a Grand Sport Vette is far from a track car, sorry.

He is on E85, I can see him pulling a Grand Sport from a roll.

is it just me or the vette was also an auto? it seemed like he floored it for a second and then had to switch lanes. but you should deff try another one with some room instead of traffic. they have great top end and am pretty sure it makes more whp and probably weights bout the same or less, not too sure on that one...
